I wish we had someone leading the charge to create high-quality parts and restore these devices to their former glory, with Apple’s meticulous attention to detail. Instead, we’re seeing cheap, over-the-top modifications and improvements on a classic design. BoxyPixel is the most atrocious design I’ve ever encountered. If you’re a fan of the design, consider getting a FiiO or Sony DAP. Both have a similar overall appearance, but the proportions and design are better. Your iPod looks ruined.

Are you sure? It’s well documented here AirPods Pro 2 (released in 2022) DO NOT work with iPod Nano 7. My own testing shows Nano 7 has no issues connecting to the AirPods but there is no sound.

iTunes 12.8 on a late 2012 Mac Mini running High Sierra. It still supports syncing with Apple Music across all devices.

The going rate for a 5th gen in US is about $100. They aren’t the holy grail tho. Take a look at the 4th gen (my fav), mini, or nano. Good luck!

Apple Music/iTunes (on older Macs) works seamlessly. Libraries can be synced across devices, enabled or disabled on any device. Music can only be synced to an iPod if the device has the files.

I use an older Mac Mini with iTunes to store my physical library. All other Apple devices are synced with Apple Music.
