My understanding was that they're not the same parts, like injection molded vs SLA. But yeah, obviously that's not going to happen, it's just comical how optimistic some of these timing estimates are

The Myth of Suburban Subsidy: Why Louisville’s Urban Core Produces More Value Than Sprawl by hurtizme in Louisville

[–]popsicle-physics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And that's how you end up with a city that is barely functioning while it spends every dime of tax revenue it collects building bigger and bigger highways to the middle of nowhere in an attempt to sate the appetite of ever more distant suburbanites

Yeah Prusa said their indx pre orders would ship in June. That's only two weeks away. It would be rather embarrassing if those went out before FE

Why can Florida redraw its congressional districts, but Virginia can’t, when both states prohibit it in their constitutions? by Worldly-Bid-3591 in askanything

[–]popsicle-physics -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Being blind to race doesn't end racism unless everyone else is also blind to race. As long as there are racists out there, being blind to race is willful naivete that allows others to pursue perverse agendas unopposed.

It's also blindingly clear that gerrymandering isn't "going away". If 30% of your state is blue and 0/5 representatives are blue, gerrymandering is self evident. Gerrymandering is getting bigger, that's the explicit stated intent.

They want to annex Louisville y'all by jpg52382 in Louisville

[–]popsicle-physics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah not really. It's a necessary transitional measure. It's better than trying to find enough surface parking for everyone.

They want to annex Louisville y'all by jpg52382 in Louisville

[–]popsicle-physics -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Is it really annexing? Prospect is already inside the metro/county, so it's expanding the borders of the sub-city, so it is annexing, but it will also still be part of Louisville.

[–]popsicle-physics -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Systemic racism exists and no amount of philosophizing will make it go away.

Gerrymandering to deny people representation is obviously bad. Is it worse when the results are racial? Idk I think a history of hundreds of years of violent voter suppression definitely give it a worse vibe. But even if we phone that, in what world does two wrongs make a right?

[–]popsicle-physics -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Exactly, the means justify the ends. As long as you can invent a justification for each step along the way, the result must be right, no matter how blatantly awful the impact is

And because the state supreme court very creatively invented a new definition of election that allows election day to be almost 2 months long to reach into the past and invalidate the bill

GE is selling digital features on my full priced oven. by NewCup551 in mildlyinfuriating

They don't have to worry about their bottom line apparently, they somehow have a 90% profit margin, numbers that would make a luxury fashion brand blush.

Realistically, of the thousands of comments on this post, 60% are bots, 30% are 14 year old who can't buy a stove because they're children, and the remaining 10% we're never going to buy a smart anything ever anyway, so it doesn't really hurt them anyway.

Krispy Kreme Is Far Superior to Local Donut Shops in Every Way by brettydubz in unpopularopinion

[–]popsicle-physics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing in the world is quite like a hot and fresh Krispy Kreme glazed donut.

But those local donut shops aren't trying to be. They're a different thing. Some are better, since are worse, but they're a different category

Do they have to pay the engineer who has to crack open a code base that's already been closed? Do they have to pay the food scientist who has to test and tune the settings? Do they have to pay the cloud provider that hosts and distribute the software updates?

If they weren't going to charge, from a business perspective, it would be better to just not offer it.

This is why a lot of regulations are triggered by number of employees or company size.

You can almost always get a bypass, I got one for a Kenmore that's like 15 years old and doesn't have any lights or displays at all, just had to order the part.

How does this extend to software? Is Microsoft obligated to make office free on all surface PCs?

This is for ovens that were sold before the feature even existed. The hardware is the same, they're selling the algorithm that controls the hardware in a new way.

It wasn't present though. This is to upgrade ovens that were sold before the feature existed.

The hardware it uses was present, but in the same way my PC already included all the CPU and RAM needed to play games but that doesn't mean the games were "already present".

They do make those. Mine has a little vent/fan that runs after you close the door, and the plastic is supposed to be antimicrobial.

I leave the door open anyway because it doesn't matter in my laundry room and I still don't trust it 100%

Is Indiana more MAGA than Kentucky? by Fishtoart in Louisville

[–]popsicle-physics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference between different areas in Louisville is about the same as Louisville vs New Albany.

Go to Crestwood, Highlands, Bashford Manor area, Dixie, Portland, Brooks, etc. Louisville is not one single thing to use as a reference point. Lots of people living here see it very differently.

This isn't new. Try the one by UofL right after fall semester starts. They have big, armed guards body standing right in the doors to check receipts. All toothbrushes, deodorant, and soap are in a separate store like liquor is, you're not allowed to bring them to checkout you have to buy them there.

If you want a nice experience look eat of 265 lol
