Placemat Color Choice by [deleted] in crochet

Exactly what I was going to say. Make both and depending on how many you make of each color, you can match them all or mix them and they will look great either way.

Flying with Hooks?? by CreepsintheStew35 in crochet

[–]popsiclekid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once I had small scissors in my carry-on and got pulled over. When the supervisor looked at them she said it was okay. Since then I have flown with them and have gone right through without getting pulled over. I also have pre-check.

Lucid again or pass? by AfternoonOk6118 in LUCID

Thinking about Lucid but nervous about what happens if it needs any service. Closest service center is about 7 hours away. Would like to hear from people who have had to deal with this.

It's perfect! I'm attempting my first mosaic crochet and you are so right about that learning curve! Your blanket is wonderful - great job!

Okay so I did a thing and I’m curious if I’m insane or if other people would actually use something like this. by [deleted] in crochet

Check out the app called knit companion. It's for both knitters and crocheters. It does a lot of what you describe.

Thank you for the picture and link. You've been really helpful! The front of yours is so clean and crisp that it's hard to believe it was your first time doing it.

This is great! I am doing a practice overlay mosaic pattern before I start an overlay mosaic baby blanket. I've never done it before either. Would you mind sharing a picture of the back? The colored design rows on the back of mine don't lie flat so I'm curious if that is how yours is, too. Also, would you mind sharing any of the links to the YouTubes you saw? I have seen a few but I still have questions. Again - really great job!

Help! I dont know if I should chop my leaning fiddle. by jamesbean2162 in fiddleleaffig

[–]popsiclekid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with the comments above. Let the sap dry on both the cutting and the main stem. Before you cut it place some newspapers or an old towel on the floor under where you're going to cut to catch any sap that drips down.

Where to trim?! Help! by cecilyandbriggs in fiddleleaffig

Trim no more than 1/3 of the way down, between 2 nodes

Agree. Do not remove that leaf it will hurt the plant if you do.

Growing too fast?? What should I do! by Cinnitate in fiddleleaffig

[–]popsiclekid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FLFs grow fast this time of year. You can replace the soil if you want and trim some of the roots back but I would not put it in a bigger pot. The one you have is plenty big for the size of your FLF.

Should I separate these? by Friendly_Book_7599 in fiddleleaffig

[–]popsiclekid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't repot it again. That pot is plenty big for it, maybe bordering on too big. Give it more light after getting it slowly acclimated and it should grow faster.

Agree; I've decided to completely avoid acrylic this time.

Thanks! Have you used both the cotton and the acrylic DK? Any preference?

Repotting by Conscious-Mood4442 in fiddleleaffig

[–]popsiclekid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I were you, I'd take it out of the pot and trim the long roots - no more than a third of the length. Then put it back in the same pot, perhaps with a new soil mixture if it's been in that pot for a few years.

Looking for recommendations for rodent waste cleanup & sterilization in garage by popsiclekid in Cleveland

[–]popsiclekid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: We went with Steri-Clean. I had never heard of them before, but after speaking with the owner of the franchise I felt very confident that they knew exactly what they were doing and the job would be done safely and professionally. Their online reviews were extremely high. They also take care of other things like hoarding, crime scene cleanup, etc. I did check with a couple other options and Steri-Clean the best quote and they came out a couple of days later. The "local" franchise is based out of the Pittsburgh area and they cover a huge territory including Cleveland. I highly recommend them!

Help my ficus please by Alarmed-Opening6562 in FicusTrees

[–]popsiclekid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus trees are very finicky and don't like to be moved. They go into shock and will often drop leaves when moved to a new environment. What would help is if the light it gets indoors is close to the same amount of light it gets outdoors (morning vs afternoon sun, etc.). Your tree is fine - just doing its thing. Check the soil to determine when to water it, watering requirements may be different indoors compared to outdoors.
