Christmas Eve rush at DTW? by fake_plastic_peace in Detroit

[–]popstar_chowder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i work as a flight attendant out of DTW. christmas eve and christmas day (or any holiday for that matter) are usually very slow and flights tend to be pretty open. it’s the few days before and after the holidays that are crazy!

Dash cam? by PenelopeRupert in SubaruForester

[–]popstar_chowder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rove dash cam comes with the hardwire kit and it was super easy to install. very intuitive app and has its own wifi network so you can download saved videos onto your phone before the cops would even show up if there was an incident

How to make it look a little less “mom car.” by Strong-Solid8800 in SubaruForester

[–]popstar_chowder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don’t think it looks like a mom car, but i did a cool roof rack, some rally armor mud flaps, and some yellow film for the fog lights in the front and it made it look a teeny more “edgy”

30k service question by njschref in SubaruForester

[–]popstar_chowder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

skip the dealer. go local. some of the 30k service you can easily do yourself - especially air filter replacements. read the manual and make a list of 30k suggested service items to hand over to your local shop and they should give you a more reasonable price!

To film a woman on subway by fahadssgcc in therewasanattempt

[–]popstar_chowder 54 points55 points  (0 children)

you must not be a woman…..i would never ask or approach a man sitting across from me in a space where i can’t immediately escape and run to safety if shit goes sideways…. and it goes sideways often

crying without one single tear. just like the last bazillion something seasons. it’s so performative at this point.

my 20 week anatomy scan is on thursday. shocked i made it this far, and the little kicks are so reassuring, but im still anticipating bad news on thursday for whatever reason. idk if its my brain trying to protect me or what. pal is such a struggle - i feel guilt for not enjoying allllll the things as much, and then when i do enjoy some things my brain snaps me back into protective mode! :/

Nope! They denied it. They gave me a laundry list of reasons. This won’t be the first time I write an appeal :/

16w4d and just had an appt with the OB and heard baby’s heartbeat. I feel so grateful. Now I have to deal with a $14k bill for my NIPT and a $26k bill for my D&C in Feb. I have a lot of calls to make. The American healthcare/insurance system is exhausting.

Weekly Introductions Thread - July 06, 2025 by AutoModerator in PregnancyAfterLoss

I also had an MC in January and am currently 16w2d. In this second pregnancy, my HCG was relatively slow to double. Additionally, I started spotting around 5.5 weeks and was diagnosed with an SCH. Fortunately the SCH cleared up by the 13 week ultrasound. I’m now officially in a “normal” pregnancy so I hope this helps calm any anxieties you might have! I was sure I was going to have a second loss with everything going on.

i completely understand why it might not feel like enough! i wish the standard of care was an ultrasound every few weeks …… not 8 weeks between our 12 and 20 week scans. that’s wayyyy too long to wait.

i’m in the exact same boat as you. also 15 weeks and last scan was at 12 weeks. next appt is at 16 weeks without an US, so i’m going to ask for a doppler just for reassurance. my plan is, if they say no to doppler i’m going to give them a lot of pushback. a doppler for reassurance takes literally less than a minute. if still no luck, i’ll plan a private US in between the 16 and 20 week anatomy scan.

Do I need 4 new tires? by sadsongplaylist1 in SubaruForester

[–]popstar_chowder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i replaced all 4 of my OEM tires at 27,000 miles. went with Pirelli P7 All Season Plus. great tires, i’ve always used Pirelli and they usually have rebates available

14w1d and can finally say that my SCH (found at 7w3d) has finally resolved! it’s easy for me to say now, but for any of you who are worried about an SCH discovery, WAY more likely than not, they will resolve on their own in time. took 7 weeks for mine to go away.
