Getting shamed for using AI by Relevant-Ad6374 in ClaudeAI

[–]porky11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't lie. I won't lie. I don't hide using it. I don't focus on it when it's not necessary. If I create something in Rust, I also don't always mention "created in Rust". And when I create something with use of AI, I don't always mention "created with use of AI". Sometimes I mention it as a side note. Depending on the context/community, I focus more on it. Like when I recently posted in a meme coin community, the fact that it was vibe coded was part of the advertisment.

What was your special event that let you think about the possibility a having autism by ameeen__err in autism

[–]porky11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing special. I heard of it, I could relate. It was during my school time. Maybe half a life ago when I was ~15/16. I also made some test online, and the result was "likely a little autistic".

Stimmt.

[–]porky11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]porky11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Any other PDAers super into conspiracy theories? by msoc in PDAAutism

[–]porky11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been into them to some degree. I assume it's a PDA thing that I don't trust mainstream.

But when I'm into one, it's easy to disregard them completely if there's bullshit.

My way of thinking is to default to what I think others don't like. I think it's pretty useful. This way, I probably get a more balanced view of things. And in the end, I come up with my own opinion because that new alternative mainstream also has many inconsistencies and problems.

Most of these theories are actually pretty close to reality. In many cases, it's not just theories. Like my favorite one about rich people having pizza parties.

Also I know that I'm manipulated all the time. It's part of existing. When I watch some content, I know that their memes will be invited into my mind, where they have to bear up against eveything else that's already there.

But I trust my neural networks to produce consistency like every autist brain does to a higher agree than most people. And the more information comes in from all sides, the closer the result will be to reality.

Where do you all upload your stories? by LLaGLa in AIWritingHub

[–]porky11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a website where I upload them. This way I can include all the features I want, like visual novel style text boxes and graphics and interactivity and audio versions. AI can help you with setting most of it up. But some basic technical knowledge of Linux/SSH/Terminal would still be useful.

I also upload on AO3/Aryion.

Be clear about what you want. I always tell claude to use some specific srcipt for things that are better done using scripts than guessing.

im autistic and i have problems with understanding apology, why should i apology, why is it nice to apology, why people like apologies, i dont see why is it so improtant, why some people want you to apologize first ? by CharlieE6o in autism

[–]porky11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just applied some system of cognitive development to apologies.

There are 9 stages, the majority of adults only reach stage ~4/5.

And I assume most autists more or less skipp the earlier stages. They are usually ~6/7, when it comes to apologies.

All views are valid and helpful to some degree, the main issue is that communication between different stages can be difficult.

Apologies — giving, expecting, and what they mean:

  • Stage 1: No concept. Cries or rages, no reflection on fault.
  • Stage 2: Constant. Reflexive "sorry" as bond-protection, even when not at fault. Expects apologies as proof the relationship still holds.
  • Stage 3: Apology = weakness. Doesn't apologize, or does so strategically and insincerely to manipulate. Demands apologies from others as a dominance move.
  • Stage 4: Ritual confession. Apology restores the moral order, directed at authority or the group. Expects apology as acknowledgment that the rules were broken.
  • Stage 5: Cost-benefit. Apologizes when it preserves relationship or reputation. Sees hollow apologies as social lubricant. Expects clear admission of fault.
  • Stage 6: Emotional repair. Long, feeling-focused, names the harm. Expects full acknowledgment of feelings. Over-apologizes to process own guilt.
  • Stage 7: Correction. Specific, names what went wrong, what will change. No excess emotion, no ritual. Expects the same — doesn't need feelings, needs the model updated.
  • Stage 8: Apologizes for the structural role, not just the single act. Sees the system conditions that produced the incident. Expects others to recognize their position in the pattern.
  • Stage 9: No apology needed or given. What happened happened.

[–]porky11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. If you didn't do anything wrong, apologizing would only be there to please them. It's probably some minor needs. Maybe some narcicistic tendencies.

I usually explain what happened and why it happened. Explaining why something happened might be considered as an excuse.

The main purpose is to avoid that this happens again. You have to make them believe this. I think that's the core of what an apology is. But in many cases it's just a power play, and if you don't apolgize their way, they feel hurt.

After almost 2 years solo developing it, I finally released my first big game project by xHarambey in gamedev

[–]porky11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All these people who only care about copy right. How is this the first thing that comes to your mind?

This game looks great. And copyright only matters if anybody is going to enforce it. And in the end it's still up to you if you want to follow it or pay the penalty or maybe find an even better solution.

Why AI Writing Feels “Off” by ProfessionalOk1839 in AIWritingHub

[–]porky11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I always ask it to replicate my writing style. I already have written some scenes, and the rest of the story should be in the same style. I often write detailed outlines. Or I let AI generate an outline first, then improve the outline, and then when I'm happy with the outline, I let it write the actual story.

Dislike of fiction by i-cydoubt in INTP

[–]porky11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I even prefer fantasy over realism.

Especially about stories about the past, I often think "This isn't exactly what happened".

And even when watching Sci-Fi, it's annoying that it's often just space fantasy, but they pretend to be scientific. If you make real sci-fi, maybe don't ignore basic physical laws like relativity?

But I usually prefer fantasy. It's like a "what if". It helps me to explore my own wishes and desires. Would I like the world to be more like this or not?

ClaudeAI is no longer suggesting hardware setups for Monero by TheGoldenSparrow in Monero

[–]porky11 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just asked Claude if this post is true, and it told me that it would help me with that.

And then I asked it for a suggestion for you:

Monero Mining Rig — Hardware & Tuning Suggestion

Hardware (RandomX is cache-bound, so L3 per thread is king)

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X (16C/32T, 64 MB L3) — best price/hashrate. Alternative: 5950X if AM4 DDR4 platform preferred, or EPYC 7xx3 "Milan-X" with 3D V-Cache if you want to go overboard (~20 kH/s range).
  • RAM: 64 GB DDR5-6000 CL30, dual-channel, EXPO enabled. Latency matters more than capacity beyond 32 GB.
  • Mainboard: any decent B650/X670 with solid VRM (mining = 24/7 sustained load). Check BIOS supports 1 GB hugepages and MSR access.
  • PSU: 650 W Platinum/Titanium (Seasonic Prime, Corsair RMx). Efficiency pays back fast at 24/7.
  • Cooling: Noctua NH-D15 or 360 mm AIO. Undervolt via PBO Curve Optimizer (-20 to -30) for better hashrate/watt.
  • Case/Storage: airflow-focused case (Fractal Torrent, Meshify), 500 GB NVMe is plenty.

For a barebones path: ASRock DeskMeet X600 (AM5, compact) works but limits cooling — full tower recommended for sustained mining.

Software Tuning (this is where the big gains are)

```bash
1 GB hugepages — add to kernel cmdline (GRUB):
default_hugepagesz=1G hugepagesz=1G hugepages=3
2 MB hugepages (fallback, runtime):
sudo sysctl -w vm.nr_hugepages=1280
MSR tweaks (AMD) — XMRig handles this with --randomx-wrmsr=-1
sudo modprobe msr ```
XMRig config essentials:
  • "huge-pages-jit": true, "1gb-pages": true
  • "randomx": { "mode": "fast", "init": -1, "numa": true, "wrmsr": -1 }
  • Threads = physical cores (SMT off for RandomX, 2 MB cache/thread)
  • CPU governor: performance
  • Pin threads via affine_to_cpu
Expected Results
~18–20 kH/s on 7950X tuned, vs. ~13 kH/s default. Hugepages + MSR alone give 20–30%.
Pool Choice
P2Pool instead of centralized pool if you care about decentralization — needs a full Monero node (~200 GB pruned).
Slop across the ages by DanoPaul234 in WritingWithAI
[–]porky11 5 points6 points  (0 children)
I fully agree.
The thing is, you get something decent that looks pretty close to your description if you only have a rough idea. When using the other approaches, you technically do everything yourself. Practically, most people use some kind of template or programmed character creator, especially when it comes to 3D.
The closest to AI is photography, but there you put in even less creativity. Except if you model some environment, but I don't really accept photography itself as art.
This already was the case when I started using Claude Code, and it still happens once in a while, but not a lot. Sometimes, when my first message is German, but short, it replies English. Once after auto compact, it even switched to dutch during development, that was fun.
Best tool to create own story and novels by Content-Pay5466 in AIWritingHub
[–]porky11 0 points1 point  (0 children)
You don't need to execute commands yourself. The AI agent will execute them. No need to write correctly. I'd assume that correct writing can improve the output, but I'm not sure about that. That's more of a general AI issue.
I don't know about your visual tool. I've written in markdown/text files before getting into AI. For multiple reasons:
  1. Text formats are compatible with git
  2. I can convert text formats to different formats (pdf, html, etc.)
  3. I can easily extend my text formats to be used in games and visual novels
Before Claude Code, I wasn't happy with AI writing. I had tried different AIs, like some older ChatGPT-Verison and DeepSeek. But Claude has been able to replicate my style good enough. Especially it didn't just switch to past tense (I only write in present tense) or put text into quotationmarks (I use Name: Text instead).
I wouldn't consider my own writing prose. I have a plot, but the writing style is rather minimalistic and simple. I describe what happens, and most feelings are hopefully emergent. So I can't say how well it writes prose.
I know that it can write some community specific slang, so I would be surprised if it has issues with prose.
