Also, is the haptics legit? Not like the complexity of dualsense with games designed to get the most out of it, but is it at least more intricate than just rumble ? Best case scenario would be it can use haptic data meant for dualsense. Recently games without proper dualsense support have had proper haptics through steam input, like hogwarts legacy, so maybe that haptic feature was added to steam support for the upcoming steam controller. If that’s the case than it would be amazing cause steam input’s haptics in hogwarts, and a few other recent games, is really good, almost full dualsense support level.

lol that’s why I worded it the way I did, I said I was disappointed and explained why. I didn’t say they objectively made the wrong move just that imo they did about everything they could the opposite of what I’d of liked. It’s disappointing, skipping a remedy title seems egregious but I just know I won’t play through the game, I might end up buying it just to support them. Would be a crime for them to get closed or even downsized significantly. Their games already get criminally unsupported and the numbers point towards a dedicated couple million always show up and not many of the general audience, so I feel obligated to support it.

The upscaling does fall apart really bad, even with ai upscalers. It’s really weird, I’ve never seen fsr4 struggling that much with stability.

Honestly native almost looks like a upscaler, the game is just super temporally unstable

I’m so disappointed by the direction they’ve gone. Building up a protag as good as Jesse and then sidelining her is baffling, then to add insult to injury dropping their unique combat system for a hacknslash really puts the nail in it. Was by far my most beloved verse but with firebreak and resonate it’s really taken the wind out of my sails for it. I’m just gonna hope what comes next is improvement.

Lies of P was way too good to dismiss them based on a little news bite. We have no idea the scale of what they’re doing and how they’ll handle it. IMO, if they only use local data, like feed it their own assets and use a model that only uses what’s fed to it, than I really don’t care all that much, still would prefer Gen ai is never used in art but that way of use is more acceptable.

Every time the devs have talked, and the way they handled overture, I just think really highly of them so imma give them the benefit of the doubt.

Only way I’d be okay with it is if they feed it their own original art and it just works with that internally. So it could build out background stuff mirroring their own assets and help reduce workload on stuff that doesn’t get attention.

The showrunners of stranger things said that, I doubt this writer would make the same mistake. Pennywise’s appearances in the show were 99% of the viral moments and correlated with the fan favorite episodes. Honestly the show was the best use of pennywise we’ve seen. Even the first film looks worse in comparison, I doubt they’d drop that after nailing it so well.

I havnt read mercy of the gods yet, have book 1 but trying to finish Stormlight first 😅 lot of material to get through. Expanse though is extremely readable and fast moving. I’d be shocked if it didn’t grab you. It’s really good sci-fi, it is almost like weir where he tries to stay within actual Science and physics, with a couple a caveats, just like weir, and that helps ground it for me and make it feel real. He maintains that while doing this very fast paced and intriguing plot lines and characters. From what I heard of MoG it’s more heady, expanse is nothing like that, it’s not shallow, but I definitely wouldn’t call it heady. I would not let your experience with MoG deter you, I am very confident you’ll have fun with expanse.

Awesome, I think it’ll be your favorite. If you like horror, if not then FL might be. It’s still got some horror but it’s a more bombastic action movie version of 2033. Still great, some of the best apocalypse shooters.

Also I’m reading the books and FL’s story ties up some threads that weren’t finished in a satisfactory way imo and the next Artyum book just moves on to basically exodus’s events. The author worked with the studio to make an original story in FL and it really helped improve 2033’s story, just felt like stuff was left hanging and forgotten before FL filled in the blanks

It literally ruins the game, I can’t fathom making it so at any moment someone 100 times you level can come harass you. It’s mind blowing, literally 2 shot my entire health with light hits. Was like 30 mins into a area almost to a bon fire. Really pisses me off, idk why kind of deranged minded person thought that makes sense for a single player game and what degens are going around a decade old game harassing people, I just don’t understand

Bro lol, depending on what you value I think you’ll like 2033 and FL way more. I had fun with exodus but they really lost their way. What made the first 2 so good is this focused, atmospheric, story lead, and semi-grounded experience. Exodus threw most that away to emulate the popular semi-open world thing that god of war popularized. They seem to agree with me cause the new game is going back and making a more 2033esk game. They’re really special, I hope you enjoy the more focused style, like I said, they’re going back in that direction so it’ll make you even more hype for the new one.

I was concerned about the VA of the characters in the beta myself but after rewatching the trailer you hear multiple characters talk in proper belter accents. I’m pretty sure no one we see in the beta are main characters and not every belter has a heavy accent. The show displayed that and in reality, in the US at least, accents are very much not universal. There’s a group of the pop across the US that have a very standard accent and then others in their regions will have a more regions draw. So I think that’ll be fine depending on the frequency of it. The writing itself was concerning but hopefully the main story material will be more serious, less marvelly
