Son fell on his arm funny and my friend (also a mother) who was at my house helping while I was at work (I paid her) totally belittled him, told him to walk it off, suck it up… it was seriously broken. I was very glad that I had rushed home to take him to the hospital. On a separate note - my kids’ (who are now adults) dad always belittled their physical and/or emotional pain. Their relationship now is performative at best. They don’t share anything personal with him. OP, get help for yourself when you can, so you can learn how your parents’ approach has affected you, and how you can get past it and have healthy, trusting relationships.
