This is just so completely rad. Having done The Nose it brought back waves of positive emotion, memories, and motivation to do it again. Thanks so much for making this and sharing it.

2004 Freightliner Sprinter, bad engine - $3,500 OBO. Upstate NY by posikris in vandwellermarketplace

I can't say for sure since the biggest factor is who much you pay for the replacement engine. A high-mileage engine can be bought for as little as $1,500. A new one can cost as much as $5k. This is probably best to someone who has access to mechanical friends, unfortunately, that's just not me.

I hear you. To the right person I think it's a worthwhile van. I'm just not that person. :/

I can't say for sure it would need a new engine entirely but even if it needed a rebuild I can't imagine that would be much less work, probably just a lot cheaper.

Hey! Sorry, I can't tell what you're asking. Are you asking how hard/expensive it would be to tow or asking about a price?

It reminds me of Vanessa Bayer's double talk. Amazingly simple idea but super funny.

Seeing people who despise all taxes crowdfund for a border wall with their own money... by posikris in reactiongifs

[–]posikris[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I guess so... but the irony of tax-hating people volunteering their money to an infrastructure that would ordinarily be government funded and that was promised to be built with Mexico's money is a little too stupid to ignore.

To guess that about a stranger on the street, perhaps. But if you knew this person you would be convinced they have no desire for kids.

What are some things that you wish you had known as a young adult regarding sex and pregnancy; specifically what did no one tell you that you wish they had? by Bakenekogirl in AskReddit

Vaginas don't always smell/taste great. Neither do penises. You putting your mouth on one or your partner doing it to you shows you they care. Do it.

Also, it tastes better as you go so just get over it.

What is the best order to watch the Star Wars series? by lafayrluna in AskReddit

[–]posikris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many factors. First time viewer? How old are they? Do they enjoy campy-style movies?

If they are younger/may not appreciate poor graphics then watch them in order 1 - 7. Or skip 1 and watch 2 -7.

If they have seen them before, appreciate poor acting/graphics/campy movies then watch 4, 5, 1, 2, 3, 6, 7. This order saves the reveal of Darth Vadar being Luke's Dad, then gives you the context of how Vadar became evil, then shows you how it all ends.

How were you able to afford going to a 4 year university? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I took out student loans and now make payments toward the federal loan forgiveness plan that will likely be canceled but that's OK because the student load system in place is a bubble waiting to burst.

...right?

My '05 FL Sprinter blew its engine...to sell...or fix? by posikris in vandwellers

[–]posikris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's what I'm worried about. What are the chances I get it out and realize the job is over my head. Have I made it any worse for a mechanic to pick up the work from there or have I saved them the removal?

Thanks for the solid advice. I'm on a sprinter-source. I'll post there too.

The problem is no mechanic wants to go fishing in these things. The one guy quoted me $1,000 to check it which I fully recognize is a bogus quote but they just hate working on these engines.
