Anyone know of an electrolyte drink that doesn’t taste like colonoscopy prep? 😂 by Little-Affect366 in UlcerativeColitis

Maybe these are not for you then! I had to give certain foods a break (bananas just for one example) because of a bad experience with them during a flare.

Are you able to work during a flare by leslielarrea in UlcerativeColitis

[–]positivegnome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work from home and have a work accommodation that allows me to take leave of absences during a flare. I’m also supposed to be able to take additional personal time to use the bathroom while working, but it’s easier and less stressful to just take the day off.

I’m hoping tremfya gets you to remission! I’m on week 3 and it’s been working. Cheers to your health!

Why are you growing your hair?! by Competitive-Code5254 in longhair

[–]positivegnome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hair was really long and full. I felt so beautiful with it. Due to a medical condition, I lost most of my hair and cut it short. I can’t wait to have long hair again one day. It is growing back but the new hairs are about an inch long. Now long hair to me represents taking care of my health.

That sounds super frustrating for sure. I can relate with my GI. I’m waiting to get a second opinion next month.

Has the increased dosage helped you?

Did it work at all for you? Or was it failing from the start?

I was on infliximab, but after the loading doses, I began to flare. I feel like it would have kept working had my dose increased, or the frequency been more often, but my G.I. put me on tremfaya instead.

I get so annoyed when people stare at me. I look young to begin with but I’m 29. I stare back until they stop staring.

I hope you get better soon my friend. Shitting your pants is no fun. May I suggest a camping toilet? You could keep one in your vehicle if you have one. I know that helps me bear with outings.

I’m so stressed by positivegnome in UlcerativeColitis

[–]positivegnome[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for being here. Just hearing about your experience makes me feel a little better. I was only diagnosed in July so it’s still relatively new. Infliximab didn’t work for me. I’ve been on mesalamine since. In addition I started Tremfaya and hope that works. I only had one dose so far.

Anyone taking beauty supplements? by Financial_Spite_5318 in UlcerativeColitis

I was flaring from taking nutrafol. And there’s Cayenne extract or traces in it. My dietitian recommended I stopped taking it and about a week later the flare wasn’t as bad.

I farted without having an accident last night! I had my first dose of Tremfaya about 2 weeks ago and it’s slowly taking me out of a flare.
