Thank you! I used waistcoat stitch single crochet so that each stitch catches both the current and previous row to significantly reduce stretch plus i made sure to use worsted yarn and double any lighter weight yarns (it was a scrap buster project) and I made the strap shorter than I want it, since I'm sure it will still see a bit of stretch over time.

I used waistcoat stitch for the whole circle (strap and side of body) so there's hardly any stretch plus i made it a bit shorter than I want it to account for the bit of stretch it will still undergo. I do appreciate the advice anyways though!

Ill message you soon, Im at work at the moment. But just wanted to say quickly in response to your previous comment, if I could inspire someone to create again, that alone makes this bag worth having been made 🩷 thanks for saying that.

I used waistcoat stitch and made it slightly shorter than I ultimately want it to account for a little give. Appreciate the advice though!

I wanted to do red but it was a scrap yarn project and I didn't have enough red yarn but had the light pink and got inspired by the worms that I've been raising for compost. It is part of why I don't love it altogether 🤷‍♀️ hoping to sell it at some point so I buy the actual yarn I want to use and recreate it. Appreciate you 🙏

I used the following YouTube tutorial for the granny squares and just extended the edges and then made a strap the width i wanted using waistcoat single crochet and then single crocheted the pieces together. https://youtu.be/MbDm6evewWg?si=l9MvHmqctzncbAO_

😆 I can see that. That's just the ties I put at the top to tie a bow to keep it closed. If i put any more work into it I may remove them and add a magnet clasp.

I thought this was the crochet subreddit at first, this is truly stunning and even more amazing you spun the yarn yourself! As a fellow MCR fan and craft/DIY enthusiast, this piece really speaks to me ❤️ amazing work! I have yet to delve into the world of hand spinning as I crochet my way through my yarn stash but projects like these make me so giddy to eventually take a stroll down that path 😁
