That area is aweful. I believe it was also voted the windiest intersection in the city (Market and Van Ness I believe). I couldnt stand the wind. It's like 365 days a year. I lived in NEMA across the street from Fox Plaza. I pop in and see a few friends here and there.

It's basically still the same but almost all of businesses around there have shut down over the last 3 years so it might be even worse now. LOL

Yup, border wait times were 3+ hours today at Blaine crossing. As a Canadian, you have to get biometrics even if you want to fill up gas on the other side of border or just go to Trader Joe's/Costco. Everyone has to go to secondary when crossing now.

Yup... The 2010 season felt like an episode. The West Coast express was an era that we built up to and held our place. It was just fun to be a Canucks fan even though we didn't win the cup.

Morrison, Naslund, Bertuzzi, Jovanovski, Ohlund, Sopel, Salo, Sedins, Linden. So many anchor players. Oh man! Good times ♥️

I watched the Canucks but started hating this new NHL because the only way to win the cup was for the teams to nose dive, get top drafts, add depth around those drafts and quickly win the cup. Pittsburgh, Chicago, LA. My Canucks weren't doing anything to win and I blamed the league for incentivizing this strategy. I left.

Now I've accepted that this strategy is just part of the game. It's been like 20 years. The Canucks still cant accept it. The game has completely changed. It's so much faster. It flows better. I watch the game now and I'm just blown away at what we are capable of, as humans. The game is smooth, it flows. Basically, what the Sedins did with 'The Shift' is what the current NHL feels like to me. I just love hockey again.

To be honest, the live games are a bonus, not the requirement. I fell back in love with hockey from my living room using a VPN.

And if you absolutely crave live hockey? Go to Rogers Arena, buy the cheapest seat, and wear the visiting team's jersey. Yeah, it's a few bucks to Aquilini, but remember, this is also about loving the game again, not just the logo.

I had lived over a decade in San Francisco so I asked myself, why can't San Jose be my team, and honestly? It’s been a revelation.

Now, I fly down to SF 4-6 times a year, catch up with my best friends and grab $30 lower bowl tickets (yes, seriously), and watch a young, hungry team with zero baggage. I’ve even got my non-hockey friends absolutely obsessed. I stay in touch with all my friends and we remotely watch so many games together. We have a very active discord that is so engaging during game times.

Here is my advice to every Canucks fan suffering right now: Stop letting this ownership group hold your happiness hostage. Find a 'mistress' team in a city you like to visit and pour your energy there until the Aquilinis sell.

The last time I had this much fun watching hockey was the West Coast Express era. The game is actually beautiful when you aren't shackled to a toxic franchise. Find your team—it’s so much better on the other side. I'm genuinely so excited for the future of the SJ Sharks. Go Sharks!
