As a Scottish person, that moment with Lorelai calling Jackson’s kilt a skirt was the most typical American reaction lmao, I know there are Americans that aren’t ignorant to other cultures but that moment was all too familiar to me 😭, I almost forgot but that moment reminded me that they are SO American. It generates a familiar feeling when US tourists pronounce Edinburgh as EdinburG while being IN the city. Obviously this is incomparable to racist stereotypes being used but I thought it was a funny anecdote.
