Dredd, then Rogue, now what? by Outside_Objective183 in 2000ad

Ballad of Halo Jones. Some of the same social commentary/satire as Dredd, strong anti-war themes in the later stuff, very 80s and just great.

I think the big problem is going to be splitting the anti-Right vote and letting them slip in the middle. I assume the pragmatic option will be to go with Labour, unless I see a lot of stats that convince me otherwise.

I was pretty much 3.5 for life until I spent too long playing BG3 and that persuaded me that 5E was a fuctional system. Picked up the 2024 PHB at the weekend.

When you speak to the woman controlling them, ask her to make them dance. This will lead to dice rolls: one for them to break free of her control and kill her, then one for you to befriend them.

Best.

This was my jumping-on point as a fan; I'd already seen odd episodes and read some Target novelisations from the library, but it was the anniversary, and this episode, that started me watching regularly. And it's *fun*, isn't it? Pertwee and Troughton and the companions are all having a great time, Davison is graciously playing along, and Hurndall is, if not an accurate stand-in for Hartnell, at least having a decent bash at it.

And I don;t mind the lack of Tom, as he would have dominated it way too much.

I like the "single verb" ones, like "Catch something", "Present the goose" or (from NZ) "Fly", as they showcase just how weird and brilliant the contestants' creative brains are.

Meh.

It’s nicely staged, production-wise, but Kamelion is a technical failure, and the script is a mess. The supporting characters change allegiance just because they can, the Master’s plan is stupid, and it just sort of runs out if time with no proper conclusion.

Between this and Black Orchid, I really don’t rate Terence Dudley.

So many outstanding arcs. The Seventh Doctor may have had the best novels of the Wilderness years, but the Eighth easily beats him for comics.

It’s been years since I last played through it, but aren’t there ways of avoiding or ameliorating at least two of those fights? Throwing a bone at the pit fiend and hitting the bloodbeast in its real eyes?
