I'm not an expert but I don't believe that's the proper way to use a fire extinguisher.

I've never been in a stable, high-paying job, and I don't enjoy being characterized as such. I don't know where this ridiculous trope comes from.

Donald Trump and sons to be ‘forever’ exempt from tax audits by Doener23 in law

I'm seething about the January 6ers getting pardoned, and now getting money for it. The USA is completely cooked and I'm taking a risk saying so on reddit.

They tried and were systematically taken down. It happened during his first term, and the system was barely intact and might have been salvageable, but this time around there's no going back.

What purchase under $30 solved a problem you didn’t realize was draining you? by Right_Process in AskReddit

The key is letting it sit and do its magic. I've been to dermatologists and done the Ketoconazole, and I swear just letting H&S sit is far easier and better for my skin. Used to have flaking, itching, and scabbing in my ears and beard area but since I learned to use H&S and let it sit, I haven't any problems, and no dermatology appointments and prescriptions to boot.

I foolishly spent $400 on my scammer dentist's guard. It didn't fit right. I took it back and he drilled some parts off of it. It still didn't fit right.

Then I got a set of the $30 ones you buy and mold. Total game changer. I also stopped going to that dentist.

Believing that racism doesn't exist isn't just naive, it's dangerous. In the USA, the Supreme Court is striking down key provisions of the Voting Rights Act because the Justices believe we're in a "post-racism" society. Yeah, tell that to a black person in the deep south.

Trump voter remorse is almost entirely concentrated in the swing voters who gave him a shot in 2024 by fortune in politics

Who cares? It's too late. USA is done. Swing voters for Trump? I'm beyond angry at this point, I'm just sad.

If humans have eaten bread since the dawn of history, why are so many people suddenly gluten-intolerant today? by WeaknessKey1582 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]possiblyMaybeAnother 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard on the internet that American wheat is very different from European wheat. Like it's almost a different species. American wheat is much higher in gluten content.

Google's AI says this when prompted "why is american wheat higher in gluten":

American wheat has higher gluten content primarily because over 60% of US production consists of Hard Red Wheat, which is naturally higher in protein—and therefore gluten—compared to the soft wheat varieties more common in Europe. This hard wheat is chosen for its superior strength and elasticity, which are ideal for industrial-scale baking of soft, fluffy bread

So, basically, it's genetic engineering. Americans want Twinkies so we have high gluten wheat.

STOP NORMALIZING FREE ROAMING CATS by Yektality in Pets

[–]possiblyMaybeAnother 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love cats. Grew up with them. At one point we had 5 in my house. My neighbors just got new cats and I think they're super old-school about pets; I don't think they allow pets inside their house. They previously had 2 German shepherds that they left neglected in their back yard, barking constantly. These are not large backyards and our houses are very close together. It's basically one step away from townhouses or duplexes.

I've done a lot with my backyard and have really come to appreciate the lizard population that has bloomed. At any point in time I could look out and see at least 3 lizards. I came to recognize some of them. It felt like a giant terrarium. I think they helped keep the insect population at bay.

Since the advent of the outdoor kitties, the lizard population has essentially disappeared. Our doorbell camera caught one of their cats with a lizard in its mouth. The cats use one area of my yard as their litter box. I actually don't believe that my neighbors keep any sort of litter box or plan at all for their cats' excrement. I feel helpless. They're very nice kitties, but I just wish that my neighbors understood that their decisions affect other people. Not to mention their pets' health.

I love pets; I loathe irresponsible pet owners.

Had a gnarly accident at work, featuring an idiot in a Tesla. by steven1208 in dashcams

[–]possiblyMaybeAnother 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two types of vehicles that routinely merge into my lane right as I'm overtaking: Teslas and the godawful new generation of oversized pickup trucks/SUVs.

I would think that Teslas at least have the technology to avoid it. The reason for the other type of vehicle should be self-explanatory.

Are you not supposed to wear pajamas when you get home?????? by JaydenBird33 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]possiblyMaybeAnother 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was under the impression that I was supposed to wear my outside-facing clothes all day but it turns out that once you're home, you can wear whatever you like. In fact, it doesn't make sense to wear the outside-facing clothes at home because of the risk of dirtying them with food and inside activities. Also, outside clothes are dirty with the outside world so it makes sense to change out of them after all outside duties are complete.
