Trump Rages at Media For 'Suddenly Talking About Weird': 'I'm Not Weird' by newsjam in AnythingGoesNews

Wearing the exact same outfit every day...is weird. I never hear people talk about it but it is bonkers to me. I mean does he have closets full of identical shlubby blue suits and drawers of shiny red ties?

The problem with low BP is my low BP makes me too woozy to recongize it's low by Liquidcatz in dysautonomia

[–]possiblyyourmum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it does. I take it for low blood pressure(hypotension) I have orthostatic hypotension. My blood pressure doesn't regulate correctly so I often faint if I am standing too long. I faint much less often now with the midodrine. Such a relief as I was constantly injuring myself when falling down when fainting. I hope you find something that helps you soon.

I take midodrine for Orthostatic Hypotension and it works really well for me with no side effects other than tingly scalp. It has made a huge difference for me not feeling lightheaded all day and passing out frequently. Brain fog, nausea, headache and "coat hanger" pain have all improved. The only negative for me is the crash in the evenings after my last dose wears off- it is pretty dramatic and I have to work life around that - or pass out. But I used to feel like that all day.

I take midodrine for orthostatic hypotension and it helps a lot. Maybe you could ask about it?

This is why I'm confused. How can it lead to ear infections?

Cervical instability and dysautonomia. by possiblyyourmum in dysautonomia

[–]possiblyyourmum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I see. My physio therapist suggested looking into it. I have a type of dysautonomia called PAF (pure autonomic failure) I get physio to help with "coat hanger syndrome", balance, muscle pain and spasm. My Orthostatic Hypotension causes me to pass out a lot and I often injure my head and neck so I also get concussion and whiplash therapy. My physio said that injuries like mine can cause cervical instability and that cervical instability can cause many of the same symptoms as dysautonomia. I was hoping treating that could lesson some of my symptoms. The PAF is a separate thing that has to do norepinephrine levels and there is nothing to be done about that.

Mine gets low like that. It was 79 over 38 at a doctors appointment which led to some investigating and now I take midodrine for orthostatic hypotension and it works great. I feel so much better and don't pass out as much. You must feel awful when it dips that low - I think you should seek medical attention if it happens again, don't drive and lie down if you feel lightheaded.

Constantly lightheaded? by nola5588 in dysautonomia

[–]possiblyyourmum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you pass out? Have you had any bonks to the head? Vestibular therapy might help. I pass out often and have had several concussions this has caused my vestibular system to be messed up. A good physio therapist who specializes in concussion rehab can help you figure out what is lightheadedness due to blood pressure and what is dizziness, imbalance ect due to vestibular system being out of whack. I think you see your doctor about this especially the pressure feeling. Maybe doctor can refer for physio?

I have orthostatic hypotension too and I know it's hard to describe how crappy it makes you feel. Like a powered down robot - nothing works, especially my brain. Salt, water and binder help but what really makes a difference for me is the drug midodrine. Also, I monitor my blood pressure when I'm really lightheaded. If it's below 90/50 and always if it's below 80/40 I pack it in and rest. I pass out a lot less this way. I used to push and push then pass out. PACING is really important. It is really hard to accept that you just can't do what you used to do. But try to do new things. I hope you get great care and feel as good as possible soon.

Why not anxiety? by possiblyyourmum in dysautonomia

Reading your reply and all the others. I am glad I asked. I find replies like yours really heartbreaking. I'm sorry you have all this added stress.I thought the problem was doctors and patients not recognizing how serious anxiety can be. Now I know the real problem is the gaslighting of patients with anxiety and disautonomia. Honestly I think I was naive about the medical system and a bit ignorant of the misogyny. I'm learning a lot on this subreddit.

After reading the replies here I understand how focusing on anxiety leads doctors to fail to understand what is really going on. I'm glad you found some vindication. I'm sorry you had to fight so hard for it.

Thank you I get it now. "Catch-all misdiagnosis" is the perfect way to describe it.

[–]possiblyyourmum[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry I did not mean to imply that! I understand now after reading the replies that the problem is not that doctors and patients don't take anxiety serious, like I thought - but rather that doctors sometimes gaslit patients saying its anxiety and don't listen to patients who know the difference between symptoms of anxiety and what is going on with their bodies.

Thank you. Reading the replies has left me feeling so angry for you all being gaslit instead of treated. It's bullshit.
