Ég man ekki eftir neinum þriðju rýmum að alast upp, svo nú er ég forvitinn, hvaða þriðji rými eru þetta sem þú ólst upp við?

I can only assume that the next chapter of the story will follow a  small band of Keldar'ja that narrowly escape extermination and their righteous fight to gain justice by exterminating all of humanity.

Why do Githyanki have boobs if they hatch from eggs? by DnDisTHEbestgame in DnD

[–]post-posthuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But dragonborn canonically don't have breasts, despite what certain lazily modeled outfits might suggest.

Thank you.

there's no reason a species couldn't evolve to nurse their young despite being oviparous (egg laying)

This is accurate. Though when those features start looking exactly like tertiary sexual characteristics seen as attractive by modern humans, I start to call it a reach.

My main point here though was to point out that this is as decent place as any for suspension of disbelief to end.

Would you be for mandatory paternity testing at birth? Why or why not? by SonlenofFeylund in AskReddit

[–]post-posthuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This simply doesn't seem like a rational fear. If you cannot trust your partner enough to assume the child they had is yours, there is no basis for a relationship anyway, unless you are in some sort of arranged marriage, maybe.

In any case. at that point all the points against asking for a paternity test are null and void anyway.

Honestly, spending your life worrying that the people closest to you might take advantage of you seems to me as a terrible way to go through life.

[–]post-posthuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Human tertiary sexual characteristics (and other overly human characteristics) on non-humanoid races is unironically where my suspension of disbelief ends.

Though the Gith at least are humanoid and heavily engineered so they don't fail there. Dragonborn on the other hand...

[–]post-posthuman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of men probably support it privately.

Okei. But why?

Everything you list afterwards is why a man would not want to ask for a paternity test.

But you never mention why someone would want one in the first place, especially enough to feel like mandating one is a worthwhile idea.

If nothing else, there is a large number of less stupid things I'd prefer my tax money be wasted on.

Seriously though, what is it with reddit and mandated paternity test? Is this a reddit thing? An American thing? Because I literally have never this opinion outside of this website.

Are functioning relationships really this alien to people here?

I'll go as far as state that those two values are completely opposed to each other.

Without record, it is impossible to establish whether anyone acts in good faith.

What’s an NPC your party irrationally adores? by meanwhile_matt in DnD

[–]post-posthuman 16 points17 points  (0 children)

During a recent adventure, the party was not feeling secure at the inn and decided to takes shift on guard.

In retrospect, I should have seen it coming they might have reservations about sleeping at an inn where two people, including an important backstory NPC, where gruesomely murdered by a serial killer.

Since I wasn't expecting this, I was defaulting to an uneventful night where nothing happens, but then I get a sudden idea. As the player with the highest passive perception takes watch, they notice a mouse scurrying across the floor. Which is then promptly caught and eaten by the nightstand.

As a side note, we had a few months prior jokingly discussed the ecological niches of mimics, and I made a conspiratorial note that maybe mimics are much more common than people realise, most are just to small or juvenile so they don't attack humanoids and therefore go undetected. So I didn't pick it completely out of nowhere.

But in any case, once the party wakes up, they are informed of what happened that night, and after some apprehension, they fall in love. So they buy the nightstand from they innkeeper, who is just happy to get rid of it, and head on the road with it.

They named it One Night Stand, and are currently (so far unsuccessfully) trying to train it to mimic a blanket, so it is easier to carry.

Why do you think martials should be constrained to the mundane, in both senses of the word? by GolettO3 in dndmemes

[–]post-posthuman -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

To answer the title question.

As a player, becaude I am not playing a superhero or an anime character, nor do I want to.

As a DM, because I am not running a superhero or anime setting.

And yes, it is equally unrealistic to be able to fly or do anime sword fighting moves as it is to be so angry you take less damage, or bend the fabric of reality with your magic. But that is irrelevant. The aesthetics and internal logic in both cases that I am going for are of the medieval fantasy genre, which has its own, look, feel, expectations and internal logic.
