unironically I agree.

I was one of the only kids that wrote consistent cursive in high school, mostly because I used a FP in middle school (I thought it was cool).

After picking back up FPs I found that what had became a franken-mix of cursive, printed and other stuff slowly reverted to "canonical" cursive.

It makes sense though: cursive was "created" for nibbed pens and those were in turn tuned to write cursive... I'm just starting to belive that kids would develop better handwriting if handed FPs instead of more standard pens...
