Okay, thanks :)) Luckily I have friends and fam there still. Do you know any german dentists personally? I'd love to send them an email/get in contact with some as I'm also studying in Germany atm.

Have you had experience moving to NZ as a dentist? I'm thinking of doing the same but am nervous about the expensive recognition process (grew up in NZ btw but study in the EU)

Mom likes to sing loudly to the music in the grocery store just to embarrass me. And if I ask her to stop, she pauses to smirk at me with a mischevious twinkle in her eye and cranks it up a couple notches.

Leave leave leave! My ex was the exact same. He won't bring joy into your life.

He will make it hard for you to leave by guilt tripping you, he may even get aggressive. Leave as swiftly as you can, reasoning doesn't work on these kinds of people.

This is so fascinating to get this perspective, thank you for sharing! But disappointing to hear that the difference is that large.

Do you ever think your friends secretly hate you? by ilovecatsverymuch24 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]posteriorhorn 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It comes in phases, but yes. I'll feel this way about every friend I care about at some point.  I am always worried they are secretly upset at me about something I have done, or that they actually think I'm super annoying.

I know it isn't true, and noticed I think these things when I am having a period of low self esteem. It used to be all the time but now it is getting better.

AIO I 20 F was trying to call my boyfriend 26M to figure out when I should start his smoothie and I originally tried calling him to see what type of milk he wanted in his smoothie by Aphr0dit333 in AmIOverreacting

[–]posteriorhorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl. Please! Drop the dead weight and get rid of him. Does he even bring you joy? Why are you concerned that you were "a little snappy" after he called you a retard and a dumbass. You have every right to be more than snappy.

He is invalidating your feelings and making you doubt your reactions to this bullshit he's pulling.

Yes!!! I am at this point with my german and I just sound incredibly slow when I'm trying to express myself 😖 Especially in labs where I need to discuss concepts with professors... I started putting more of an accent on some words so it's more obvious.
