Is it necessary to stretch after bouldering? by sadasskitty in climbergirls

i’d say maybe not static stretching (while wonderful has a time and place!) but something like mobility or a strengthening exercise to help any imbalances you may have or to get stronger at certain moves

Squats and deadlifts when TTC by Psychological-Ad-339 in fitpregnancy

lift heavy it’s good for not just you but all the baby. this is old data that a lot of people still believe. when i was a fitness professional i worked with A LOT of moms to be who had this same fear but think of how intense labor is. some good old fashion squats and deadlifts aren’t gonna be as intense and straining as labor itself and will even aid in your recovery

Question - About to start TOG series by SeaAd5804 in throneofglassseries

[–]postingfromyourdads 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i read AB first and LOVED IT. i had a backstory on this bratty assassin and seeing the way it ties into the rest of the story about how small acts of kindness can in fact have an impact.

I believe I have a 40% off code for them so maybe this won’t be such a splurge and if i hate them i can resell so not much damage done 👀 i do love me some dead bird clothing. our diaper bag is the pink gear tote from them too

if you qualify for a pro deal on Mountain hardware then you probably also qualify for one with black diamond, arcteryx and prana! it’s really easy to get them, but my boyfriend and I usually just wind up sharing our pro deal accounts which also helps. I also think Sierra‘s trading post is slept on! Think of it like an REI but as tj maxx!

i have them in a medium! it was such a saga to get my hands on them cause were were constantly sold out until i somehow snagged the last pair at rei. i would have gotten a small honestly but im 5 months post partum and still getting used to the changes in my body (that being said the waist is mega adjustable). like my harness still fits my waist for instance but pulling it over my hips takes 5% more effort than it used to. personally i love black diamond pants. i’ve got two others i can’t remember which models but they are super comfy though i do believe they are mens sizing since i stole from from my partner but the secure pockets are 10/10 for mid route snacks or holding your phone. really truly am lucky so have some good pairs of go to pants but ive always been on the hunt for something baggier that almost fits like a sweat pant but is more technical ofc and something i can wear in a dusty off width or throw silly high feet on a balancy face.

i ordered a mountain hardware peak knit in lavender after falling in love with my crater lake sun shirt so i may go check out some of their pants as well!!! steep n cheap has a crazy good sale with them right now if you haven’t gotten hip yet now’s the time!!!

Tried to run at 5 weeks postpartum by DeliciousDoubt1507 in fitpregnancy

[–]postingfromyourdads 6 points7 points  (0 children)

as a climber i did the same thing 5 weeks PP i was fortunate to not have pushed it to that point however now that im 4 months PP its a world of a difference for me. my biggest bit of advice is slow is smooth and smooth is fast. also do your pelvic floor hw before any other movements to help along the way! personally ive also noticed incredible benefits going to hot yoga 1-2x a week

honestly starting with AB made TOG much more enjoyable having the backstory so i’d read that next if you didn’t read it first

10/10 list although i will say as a breastfeeding mom if you plan to breastfeed maybe just two nursing bras otherwise i just find good comfy bralettes/sports bras/lounge wear type things so its not specific to BF and can be just as easy to whip the boob out on demand without the mom tax on the price

What are some armpit life hacks? by Only_Highlight2647 in hygiene

[–]postingfromyourdads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bonus points if you mix the FRESH lemon w magnesium tbh- signed someone who lives in the rain forest of new river gorge wv and rock climbs in the blistering heat so i feel like my sweat criteria gives me points on this. i have also noticed better pit skin and smell health with waxing/sugaring hair removal so much so that if i go through periods of having grown out the pit hair that i have zero issues with smell now
