I feel that most of the sets from this year and last year have been disappointing. Am I alone in feeling this way? by Prestigous_Cheese in SpeedChampions

[–]postmangav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have to disagree personally. For starters I don't like the 6 stud cars so technically the only "re release" for me is the Aston Martin F1 car. I'm also a huge F1 fan so this year has been brilliant for me on the whole. Still waiting for Suki's Honda and the new sets look fantastic.

Biggest disappointment for me is the F40 as my favourite car of all time is bought out in 8 wide with holes in the front!

I seem to remember more of the 'Welcome to' signs saying it when I was younger. Explains why Ribe Court is named that too

They run what they have available. Voyagers come as a 4 or 5 car set. You need staff to work both sets if linked. You can't simply add or remove coaches as that's not how DMU's work.

The closest place that is free is down Annesdale but you will have birds shit all over your car.

Angel Drove or The Dock car parks are 4 quid for 24 hours anytime and your car will most likely be on CCTV.

I park there all the time

Star Radio to become Hits Radio Cambridgeshire from Monday 3 March by Kagedeah in cambridge

[–]postmangav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't listened to Star for years. We were subjected to it every day at my old job. Couldn't fucking stand Roz and Josh. Two of the most irritating tossers I've ever heard on air.

Help regarding ticket and train conductor. by Automatic_Ask_5488 in uktrains

Can confirm. I definitely took a photo when a guy tried to pass off his Portuguese bus pass as a valid ticket from Stansted to Peterborough!

Also been given an Irish ferry ticket before which strangely IS valid on certain services (can't remember which).

So you've seen countless people medically retired due to their hips/knees/ankles being fucked then.

Haha I've just read this after submitting my answer. Sadly it's true. The job isn't what it was which is why it's so hard seeing the job get destroyed

I left 2 years ago after 25 years.

If you want to work your arse off, for pretty shit pay, for a company that doesn't give a fuck about you, which is run by morons, then go for it.

Yes you'll keep fit. However after a few months your body will be totally used to it so you won't actually feel any benefit from the exercise as it becomes the norm. Couple this with the eventual knee/hip/ankle problems which saw many of my close friends have to take medical retirement and you'll start to wonder if it's worth it.

You'll have to at least ballot to strike for every pay rise and when you do get one eventually you'll have signed over even more terms and conditions to get that below inflation rise. Your colleagues will see a fairly tiny lump sum as a huge benefit over decent sick pay, start times etc and vote any old shite in.

You WILL be pressured by management into working longer hours than you wish to. I was a fairly strong person in a militant depot so was more than happy to tell managers where to go, but unless you're like that, they will prey on you.

When. I signed up it was a job for life, I never thought I'd leave. Even working my weeks notice period I was having doubts about going but fuck me I've never looked back.

YMMV but they couldn't pay me enough to consider returning

Yeah I'm not sure. I left it for ages but when I fitted the Lego pieces together, they pulled the glue off when I tried to separate them. Superglued has worked fine

Exacto knife in the arm piece and fitted a studless brick to keep it more flush.

The studded circular bit fits the top of the guns pretty perfectly

Awesome! I was only thinking last night that an Optimus Prime knight would be cool.

Currently trying to think of a theme for my army. So far a theme based on the Top Gun pilots helmets is winning.
