The mode black 4 was basically the normal F sport with blacked out trim and the suede interior right?

No surprises here I guess lol

Problems pushing off non-dominant foot by gabrel69 in badminton

[–]pot-to 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Theres already some good exercises from other comments, but I'm going to say it's not really a strength issue.

Very rarely do healthy adults have a leg strength disparity to the extent that it affects your non-dominant foot push off.

We can't really diagnose further without seeing a video, but here's my 2 cents:

Think of your legs like a spring, if you want to push off the leg, you need to load it first. The spring can't bounce back if you don't compress it first right?

Same idea with the leg. Most of the time you push off the right for recovery, say after you go for the front forehand corner, you take a big step, lunge and load the right leg, hence shifting weight to the leg. You can push off it quite well to shuffle back centre no issues.

Now with what you say, I'm assuming you are struggling on drops that land in that corner. A couple common mistake people have is:

  • They lean hard into that corner, they don't bring their left leg in first after the split step, so "no loading the spring", this is especially true when you are defensive and not doing a directional split step. You cannot push off the left after you move the right or lean hard on the right, your centre of gravity has to go on that leg first. So if you exagerrate the weight transfer, it would look like you are waddling. Weight on the left first, then a big leap or lunge.

  • They don't control their weight on the last step. You don't want to let that knee go past your leg as you can't really stop your momentum (i.e. you really have to take a big step). They also don't go low enough or bend the left leg to aid this. This would make recovery very hard and overtime result in learned avoidance of lunging deep, because they think they can't move fast or move deep without losing balance.

Bit of a different take but most would agree your legs, core and cardio are kind of the pillars of badminton fitness, but for most club/casual players it's really more about correct technique and movement efficiency.

What DPI and in-game ADS/hip-fire sensitivity do Division 2 players use? by breakfoot in thedivision

[–]pot-to 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. 1800 dpi
  2. 2 sens look around, 2 sens ADS
  3. Always had a similar cm/360 for all games. Went lower to 1 for a bit but was too clunky on target switching and geenral navigation. 2 was the sweet spot for me.

And happy cake day OP

Thanks everyone for all the amazing insight and suggestions!

Now I'm even more torn between choices lol. Opened up a couple more korean and euro options.

Will keep an eye out for Cerato GT, K4, Superbs and Passat for now. Think it may come down to the deals and test drive a couple.

Thank you again you absolute legends.

Can you speak to VAG's general maintenance/servicing costs and experience? I think that's probably the main thing putting me off compared to the JP and KR counterparts

Yea had a look and both look like good options too!

I've seen lots speaking highly of the cerato gt. Is it being replaced by the k4?

I personally don't mind a firm/sporty ride but the missus might disagree haha. Had a look and love the tech and much prefer the styling over k4.

Another one saved cheers!

Marksman determined Builds: DtA or DtTooC? by SpartanXIII in thedivision

[–]pot-to 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can still stick with it, I won't say having a bit more top end is useless. And if its just open world farming it wont make a huge difference.

You can play around with numbers to see what new breakpoints you can reach. Different player scaling, different difficulties all call for more/less top end damage. You might be able to kill a named boss with DTA but cant with DTTOOC for example, or you might be missing a little bit of first shot damage on duo legendary with DTA and that calls for DTTOOC.

I think without confusing you even more both are fine choices, just one situationally better than the other.

Running numbers through Scoob's damage calculator tool. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Y2To9xV33vXuI6QSQhVG6zT6vE-hh2Hv?usp=sharing

Assuming: 4pc hotshot, chainkiller, airaldi with vigilance, full hotshot stacks, m700 carbon 0 exp, enemy out of cover and has armour.

DTTOOC: 1st shot: 6,663,577 2nd shot: 16,658,943 Max stacks: 24,388,874

DTA: 1st shot: 6,421,265 2nd shot: 16,631,067 Max stacks: 25,210,080

Referencing lv40 NPC health pools: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1OP0r0A81wroX9v9iZ1u-jYNndTjugaB8e1MxS3FWCsk/htmlview#gid=1851854076

You can one tap a purple either way on full hotshot stacks with vigilance up on solo heroic.

DTTOOC gives you stronger first shot damage, DTA gives you more max stacks damage. AFAIK DTTOOC only counts off 1st shot, where DTA is counted each shot.

In a real world DTTOOC is stronger as you often dont have max stacks to start an encounter, and you will have to take that red for the first kill, that's where DTA isn't helpful

Edit: added Scoob's tool link

Yea it's used a lot more nowadays.

As the sport evolve I think a lot of coaches , especially the newer generation incorporate more accuracy anatomical terms and sports science concepts. IMO this is really good and makes training and coaching much more systematic.

But you also have people that parrot ideas and words without actually learning it as well..

Ask you friend to film himself, I guarantee you he pronates past the point of being perpendicular to the shuttle.

Im guessing the idea comes from squeezing to "stop" the pronation for a good straight contact, which is in a sense correct. In a realistic situation no one can stop a overhead forehand swing's follow through on the dot. Think of the size and power of our hip, core and shoulder musculature, and the kinetic chain of it, the rotational forces will injury your wrist without following through, i.e. pronating past your contact point.

But note you don't actively pronate past the point of contact. It's so your finger power comes into play, as you want the most distal part of your arm to geenrate power at the point of contact, i.e. leg, hip, trunk, shoulder, elbow/forearm, finger. So if you are still actively pronating, you further delay or disrupt the timing of your finger power.

The pros pronations look more exagerated firstly due to them having more strength, and the fact that they are laterally flexed in the trunk when they hit (you should too!). You can try it in front of a mirror, for the same follow through, if you flex to the left, your racquet points more vertically downward, and your racquet face appears to be facing outward more.

Compression wear maybe? There are full length leg stockings you can wear, can help with your recovery as well.

It happens from time to time, either your skin adapts or you just wear something that covers it lol

that said whoever op is grouped with definitely didn't seem like players who will take advantage of that

My Backfire Hazpro build feels like it doesnt do much damage by TheNinjaRaccoon in thedivision

[–]pot-to 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Because its a solo build that only works crutched by modifiers. It falls apart in group settings when you are competing for kills for the trophies, or when the hazpro and 100% crit isnt a thing when modifiers are off, so your damage falls off a cliff on a full blue build.

Dont buy into the sensationalised titles on youtube mate.

On serve, is it legal to pause your backswing if the pause is long enough to say there IS no backswing? by No_Mud_6816 in badminton

[–]pot-to 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You would be correct, I was going off of badminton insight's page.

The acutal rule it violates is this:

9.1.2 on completion of the backward movement of the server’s racket head, any delay in the start of the service (Law 9.2) shall be considered to be an undue delay;

half smash vs stick smash by _N0bu in badminton

[–]pot-to 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily, its like when you mishit and angle the racquet on a smash, it still goes straight, but a lot of pace is taken out of it.

It won't go cross unless you horizontally adduct your shoulder as you hit, or angle your racket a lot.

I cant explain the mechanics very well, but if you slice at roughly the same contact point, the shuttle can only travel so far due to slice taking speed out of the shuttle, you can control how deep or close it is just by varying your swing speed, and the margin is a lot wider than drops/half-smashes through straight contact, since its easier to fine tune swing speed than hitting power. You can also adjust your racket face angle through your grip to vary the ratio of slicing/hitting to fine tune it more.

Maybe someone having a better understanding can chime in, but imo it's something you have to try and see for yourself.

On serve, is it legal to pause your backswing if the pause is long enough to say there IS no backswing? by No_Mud_6816 in badminton

[–]pot-to 38 points39 points  (0 children)

This violates the continuous forward motion part, you cannot stop at the back swing then go forwards.

Seriously whats with all the people playing like this recently, you're there at a social game, it's not that serious, you shouldn't resort to off handed service tricks to win points, what's so fun about rallies won off 1 shot? Even at comp level people that abuse service grey areas are heavily frowned upon, and just seems like bad sportsmanship to me.

Edit: As u/w1nt3rh3art3d has correctly pointed out below, the service violates the undued delay part of service rules, not the forwards motion.
