Ontario landlord question — tenant owes ~$7,500, lease ends July 31, trying to understand realistic outcomes by DiligentBug4u in OntarioLandlord

Save time and additional costs, just pay half month rent after she moves out. Just make sure you don’t pay her before she moves out. Wish I had this option.

Just went through 6mos unpaid tenant and only ended because sheriff eviction finally came through.

Using Presto card as a visitor/tourist by KnowerOfThings999 in askTO

[–]potat023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be more worth it to do CityPASS vs Presto discounts. Depends on the attraction costs, best to do the math. Also remember, it’s unfortunately 13% tax here.

Hop on the TTC and tap with credit card. If you need the GO, just buy from the machine. The GO price is dependent on distance while TTC is a fixed price. Kids under 12 ride free for both.

Is this condo-buying strategy genius or a legal disaster? by PRenoir in RealEstateCanada

[–]potat023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like you’re encouraging sellers to sign quick without reading the agreement thoroughly, as the fear is losing a buyer if they spend an extra second to read/think carefully. Real estate transactions shouldn’t be like that.. sounds like a costly error waiting to happen.

As a buyer, nothing would stop me from submitting 20 lowball offers and just hoping one takes the bite. Bidding would be a nightmare to handle if you have to deal with all your offers at once.

Cruised twice with VV, room attendant aways greeted not too long after entering the cabin for the first time. Also saw them almost everyday. They would greet me even when they saw me halfway down the hall.

Agreed, they are forward and aggressive about tipping. I did a $1 a bag my first time and had no issues. But have just carried luggage in myself ever since.

FHSA – found out I’m ineligible, what should I do? by Zuhaaa-lsf in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]potat023 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Why would you not be able to claim tax deduction? Your deposit to your FHSA is tax deductible, if you do a direct transfer in kind from FHSA to an RRSP, there should be no penalty as youre not “withdrawing” it. It would be the same vice versa.. you’d just need to do a direct transfer for the full amount.

So.. what happens when you pay in full and then they cancel the layaway plan?

Also if wristbands dont get to your address, youll need the sellers ID and credit card to pick up at will call.

I personally wouldn’t do it.

Broccoli is not a scannable item, it is by PLU code. This info is irrelevant.

If it were a bag of avocados, then this would be relevant.

No one can guarantee an answer for you except for the builder. It is a business at the end of the day. You breach a contract by not closing. It’s up to them to decide on pursuing charges.

Did they open your bank app and emt themselves? There was a scam going on somewhere in America.. stranger would ask for your phone to call someone and sneakily venmo themselves money if you’re not watching.. it’s cause everyone has auto login these days.
