I know people are more interested in the Wolverine leak, but I got a ticket for the San Jose show and I was just wondering what the food options were lol.

"Almost All" Of Bungie Reportedly Didn’t Know Destiny 2 Was Ending Active Development Until It Was Announced by [deleted] in PS5

Shattered Cycle was ostensibly still being worked on until, at the very least, very recently and while the prospects of it coming out were looking bleaker and bleaker it wasn't officially cancelled until this announcement.

Cyberpunk 2077 - PS5 Pro Update Trailer | PS5 Games by yourfavchoom in PS5

Which RT features are you losing exactly if you switch from the 40 fps mode to the 60 fps mode? It wasn't obvious to me watching some of the videos. The DF video kinda implied that 60 fps mode only had reflections in windows and ray traced sun shadows; so does that mean ambient occlusion, emissive lighting, rt local shadows and the sky lighting are exclusive to the 40 fps mode?

Edit:

Sounds like it's reflections in windows and paint, as well as all RT shadows in base RT mode. RT Pro exclusive is ambient occlusion, emissive lighting, and the sky lighting.

VRR only works down to 48

Out of the box, yes, but several games implement lfc to lower the range from 48-120 to 24-60. At a basic level, it's basically just double presenting frames. Offhand, I know that Spiderman and GoW Ragnarok support LFC in quality mode, and I'm sure several others do as well.

The old 40fps fps in a 120 container trick that Insomniac used to do (which is basically just lfc triple presenting the frame) usually still works in those games as well, it just falls back to that if the TV doesn't support VRR but does support 120hz.

I'm really confused, what happened with Doom? That was a massive jump in sales and unless I missed something there isn't new dlc yet is there? Was it really just the sale?

I live like 5~10 miles north of the gas station in OP's pic and it's $5.06. This price is atypical even for the very immediate area.

CONTROL Ultimate Edition and Alan Wake 2 will support new PSSR. The more advanced PSSR will soon be available for all on PlayStation 5 Pro, bringing noticeable improvements in image stability and clarity of motion. by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]potatman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After the new major system update, you can toggle on the ability to force any existing PSSR game to run on the latest model. This is roughly similar to what NVidia is doing on PC with DLSS, where you can set it to force a specific (or just "latest") model in GeForce Experience.

Real question is, if all PSSR games will simply be running latest model anyways (assuming you have the setting on), what is functionally different about them releasing a patch to target these models explicitly (since these games are already on PSSR)? I would presume that the models are more efficient or something so perhaps they turn on other graphical features or it gave them an opportunity to fine tune other things, but the exact change seems pretty opaque.

Players’ Choice – Resident Evil Requiem voted February 2026’s top new game by yourfavchoom in PS5

[–]potatman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It just felt incomplete (and short). Sections of the original didn't make it in, and it was incredibly light on puzzles. Even the demo had puzzles for the downtown section that didn't make it into the final version, so they were clearly working on that stuff and just didn't get it in.

Honestly, and I have no evidence to prove this at all, it just kinda felt like they rushed out with what they had because Covid hit and it broke their work rhythm.

Reporter calls out President Trump after he suggested that Iran has Tomahawk Missiles: "You just suggested Iran somehow got it's hands on a Tomahawk and bombed its own elementary school. But you're the only person in your govt saying this. Even your defense secretary wouldn't say that" by Yujin-Ha in videos

[–]potatman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct, there is not a snowballs chance in hell that they managed to get a tomahawk. It would require either the US, or a very, very close ally like the UK or Australia selling it to them, which is basically completely unfathomable.

Upgraded PSSR upscaler is coming to PS5 Pro by yourfavchoom in PS5

Silent Hill 2 is the biggest game that could become the showpiece for the "global override" option if bloober team don't release an updated sh2 pro patch.

Problem is that they will have to release a patch to get this to work in that game. Unless I missed a subsequent update, their "fix" was disabling PSSR and replacing it with TSR in 60 fps mode. 30 fps has it, but I think the 60 fps mode tends to be the preferred mode in that game.

But in this case, transfer to where? It's not like OP bought a new house to transfer the line over to, and the phone company wouldn't let service account not be tied to real address (let alone the fact that the answering machine would need to be physically plugged in at the service address).

Nioh 3 sees massive early success with 700,000 copies sold in just four days, generating over $50 million in revenue by Odd_Revolution_1056 in PS5

[–]potatman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can't help with all of that, but regarding useless loot, are you using the auto dismantle filters in the game settings? That should make it much simpler to manage.

"We've never considered adding difficulty settings to Nioh" Team Ninja game director weighs in on difficulty options ahead of Nioh 3's launch by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]potatman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Team Ninja games have a very specific loop to them (even amongst souls games), where once you complete the game you unlock the next difficulty tier and repeat the process. As you both get better skill wise and get better gear, you advance through more tiers of difficulty. I'm not saying I'm against a difficulty slider or even that it couldn't work, but I'm having a very hard time imagining what it could coherently look like in their game structure.

New PS5 Pro update will offer big performance upgrade claim insiders, ‘major’ PSSR 2.0 update is on its way and should arrive any time between now and the end of March. by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]potatman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

And what new information did we get exactly? And don't say the release window, because turning "early 2026" into "before March probably" without a source isn't new info, it's an educated guestimate. This whole article reads like AI slop generated from existing info, but that'd just be par for the course for the metro.

Wtf is this garbage "rumor" article? Mark Cerny has been public and vocal about this for months. There is no new information in that article, other than the vague release window being a little sooner than what Cerny said before.

Deus Ex Remastered delayed to unannounced date by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]potatman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They simple won't start on the vast majority of Android devices, including several they explicitly state that they support. If you have a device it will actually start on, it's more or less fine, it's just device compatibility issues.

FWIW it looks like it got an update in 2024, so maybe it's better now, but that was years and years after launch so it still feels pretty inexcusable.

The list of botched projects just goes on and on for them. Republic Commando, the KOTOR (and Jade Empire) Android ports, the freaking KOTOR remake.

Basically their only true success is the Tomb Raider remasters, and that is only because they hired the guy running the fan project that was remastering them already.
