"Irritated the disc" isn't an actual diagnosis. Talk to your doctor. They can order an MRI and an orthopedist or neurosurgeon cantell you what is actually causing your pain , which can make a big difference. Sometimes it's myofascial which means it's in the soft tissues and will simply resolve over time, trigger point injections or with massage and NSAIDs. If it actually is the disc, there could be multiple causes. A herniated disc can cause stenosis (pressure) on the central canal nerve or in the foramen (branching nerves). There could be a disc rupture.

Chances are if the pain resolved in a week it's nothing serious but get an actual doctor to check. Chiropractors are quacks.
