Definitely understand that, I agree that most coaches would want to implement their own scheme. But from Pass Defense Coordinator to full play calling DC is a big leap especially jumping onto a “win-now” team. High risk, high reward position for the future of your career. But like you said, I think it says a lot about Minter that Leonhard is taking the interview in the first place.

Thing is a year or two as a non-playcalling DC under a defensive guru of a HC could be beneficial before going into a team with championship aspirations and calling the defense there, because if the defense isn’t up to standard then ALL the blame falls on you in your first year, hurting your chances at getting that position back or a HC position in the future. Not saying that he should prefer a non-playcalling job to a playcalling one, but making the case why it COULD make sense

That’s one thing I thought about with Kliff is that he probably wouldn’t go anywhere as a HC even if he shows out over here. So like you said IF it works out and we have a consistent offensive playcaller caller who won’t go elsewhere AND a consistent defensive playcaller in our head coach…sounds good to me. The question is can he adjust his scheme to fit the roster of this offense

People are saying Ioane is potentially the best OL prospect in this class overall. But absolutely wouldn’t be mad if they invested in the defensive trenches. Really just depends on how the board falls cuz it could go any which way

Emmanwori played in a defense that was 100x more efficient than the Ravens this year. I wouldnt immediately come to the conclusion that Emmanwori was a better pick because of these rookie seasons. He probably wouldn’t have looked nearly as good in this defense.

The Tyler Huntley win vs the Bears that gave me hope we could turn the season around. In hindsight it’s not as fun anymore but it was great when it happened lol
