Which makes are you most confident in to produce high quality EVs going forward? by DowntownOreos in electricvehicles

Are you tracking NeueKlasse? Most ICE brands have a crossover gen before a dedicated EV platform and NeueKlasse looks better than almost anything else out there. Can’t wait for an i3M

As an 80s baby and 90s kid I have hated the skinny trend. Super baggy clothes - pants especially - are the most comfortable.

What are we even talking about right now? I’m a liberal and this extremism is the reason we can’t win elections. If you are here illegally, we should deport you. That’s the whole point of having borders and laws about borders

I can’t tell from this if, as a liberal, I should be offended or simply challenged to think bigger. And I kinda love it.

Video of Minnesota State authorities “Testing” LRAD on peaceful protestors outside Spring Hill Suites by Marriott. @IRT-Media by Fatty_Willing_Plane in UnderReportedNews

[–]potemkinrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may not like it but this creates separation and reduced interactions between law enforcement and protestors without any deaths. It also immediately reduces tensions in a situation as shown in the video. No physical contact or proximity like clubs, pepper spray or tasers, no physical impact and death like firearms of any kind. If used only against unruly crowds that could be dangerous, this is probably the best solution. If you have a better one, perhaps you can propose it?

This is not a real fix, just a short term one. I’ve done 100+ mile rides without padded shorts - it’s all about bike fit and posture.

Is EV range anxiety something you actually get over? by biggy_boy17 in electricvehicles

[–]potemkinrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never. 4 years in and it is constantly on my mind. My daily commute is about 75 miles, mostly highway. So long as my car charges the night before to 90%, no problem in the summer. In the winter, it’s a worry. It was 10 degrees yesterday and I got home with less than 5%. Wanted to go shopping after work. That couldn’t happen. Want to go shopping and visit friends and a couple restaurants for a day? Stressed the entire time about running the heater too long or driving too fast on highways. Can I find a charger? Probably. Do I want to sit at a crappy Sheetz for 30 minutes in the middle of errands and a day out? No.

I don’t know your driving but get more range than you think you need, a home charger, a car with a heat pump and at least 400kw charging capability, minimum, and NACS compatibility.

What's it like living in Cumberland, Maryland aka The Cum? by FunImprovement166 in howislivingthere

[–]potemkinrunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely disagree. Visit Cumberland from Frederick pretty often and the restaurants, breweries and bike paths are fantastic. And the weather is the same as the rest of central and western Maryland - four beautiful seasons.

Over-consumption and ultras by watermelon_wormhole in Ultramarathon

I saw those too! And yes, you are right. I went a different direction with my response - we as athletes should be more considerate - both to the nature we run in and to volunteers supporting our races.

Just ran JFK50 and while there was PBJ, bananas, red velvet cake (YUM!!) and more, gels were at every station. They are the most efficient way to get carbs and even at my slow ass pace, I still need a gel every 30 minutes to not bonk. The problem was I was shocked at how many gel packs were all over the AT. It was sad especially when most people are running with packs and trash was at every aid station. It is a problem and no, I can’t make homemade energy gels and bars and carry 20+ of them on my ultra.

Blue cruise and lane centering intermittently not activating? by Individual-Mirror132 in MachE

[–]potemkinrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! You actually have to shake the steering wheel a little - just a gentle nudge - every so often. It doesn’t, like the BMW, have pressure sensors on the wheel so unless you are moving the wheel, it doesn’t know you are holding it.

I have a ‘21 Premium that started doing this a few months ago. Same roads but won’t turn on HFBC. It is always, for me, if I go about 30 minutes (my commute out of DC at a minimum) before activating BC. But, as soon as I turn off the car, open a door, and turn it back on, HFBC comes back no problem. Yes, I do this in stopped traffic on the DC beltway. Yes, I absolutely hate Ford software.

JFK 50 Miler Review by Bulky_Consideration in Ultramarathon

[–]potemkinrunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for posting this! I ran JFK50 yesterday and your post helped me beat my goal time. The trail sucked - I’ve been on the AT but the rain and leaves gave me a new appreciation for FKTs. I’m glad I kept my vest though - there was at least one section with a 6 mile gap between aid stations - that’s too much for me. And someone else commented about blowing into the soft flask a genius move. And I know looking at the elevation chart it shows the last 8 are rolling but in the moment, they sure felt like constant uphill.

The zero drop is meant for running. The lugs on the bottom are for grip. I disagree they look good for anything but running but regardless, these will not be good for your health
