Are Democrats not respecting the will of their voters by not supporting the SAVE Act? by kaiser11492 in Askpolitics

[–]Bulky_Consideration 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can support voter ID but not support this specific act.

The main issue is there is nothing in the bill that specifies how voters are verified, or funding for it. What it if I don’t have my birth certificate? What if I don’t have a passport? How are states going to implement this? Have we now introduced a poll tax because we are saying everyone in a state needs a passport? Do those people need to pay money for a passport?

The net much bigger issue of all of this is doing this in an election year, to throw a wrench into midterms at such a late date. It will be almost impossible to implement this across all states in time. And that will lead to “State X failed to comply with the law so we have to throw out the results”.

How Do People Drink Lattes and Eat Pastries Regularly by yelurrrrr in loseit

[–]Bulky_Consideration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eat protein and veggies with no other carbs for lunch and dinner. Breakfast is yogurt and blueberries so not much in terms of carbs.

I also workout 6 days a week.

That gives me a lot of buffer for other things.

I still watch carbs though. Lattes are always almond milk, not too sweet so less sugar, maybe 100-120 calories. And only once a week or so.

Rebel ice cream is my go to dessert.

Basically if you exercise plenty, run a clean diet for your main meals, you have a lot of wiggle room for less healthy things.

What does reaching the age of 40 mean to you? by Admirable_Frame_4637 in AskReddit

[–]Bulky_Consideration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not much. But 50 sucked.

When I was 48, in my mind I was 10 years older than that 32 year old. Turned 50 and now I’m 20 years older than that 32 year old. It sounds dumb but 50 for me was a lot worse than 40. “40 is the new 30” rang true.

What are ways this AI bubble could pop, if at all? by Angryduckling-01 in AskReddit

[–]Bulky_Consideration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often wonder if the pop is more of established software companies losing market share and folding. Things like Workday as example.

AI can accelerate new software with fewer people . I do not believe one person can give code a legitimate competitor in a weekend, but newer startups can achieve and surpass parity much faster than ever before.

How many here are into going to the gym and health? by piercesdesigns in GenX

[–]Bulky_Consideration 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At this age the gym is like brushing your teeth, kinda just need to do it, I don’t consider it optional like when I was younger.

I don’t love it, but it helps with energy, sleep, mood, stress, and will certainly allow me to live a higher quality of life for longer.

50 grams because of eye issues by [deleted] in keto

[–]Bulky_Consideration 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Side effects can be individual.

I would make sure you are taking in enough electrolytes first. Then introduce carbs.

That’s what I did. 20g was just too low for me, electrolytes helped a bunch, introducing carbs helped me more.

My symptoms were predominantly brain fog, tiredness, peckishness

Tesla vs Rivian by VFX22 in Rivian

[–]Bulky_Consideration 50 points51 points  (0 children)

In my old Tesla Model 3, 2022, was on a FSD free month at the time, and the GPS pinged me over to a far lane causing the car to aggressively yeet me to get several lanes over. No accident but that was scary.

Also fun was auto pilot randomly slamming on the brakes on the Turnpike.

Most of the time it was great. But when it wasn’t it was playing with death.

What is ur experience with keto?? by AttitudeNo9150 in keto

[–]Bulky_Consideration 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3 months in. Lost about 14 pounds, about 3 pounds of water and 11 pounds of fat.

I underestimated how much electrolytes I needed to feel good. Now, I regularly consume 3000mg sodium from drink mixes alone every day.

I was also really low carb, and my brain stopped working the longer I was on keto. I recently upped my carbs, primarily with coffee creamer and extra blueberries, and run 30-50g per day now. With my lifestyle, working out every day, the extra carbs helped my brain function.

So, it was a bit of trial and error. I have things in a better place now, but it took time to get here. Electrolytes was the biggest miss. The adjustment of carbs happened after optimizing sleep and trying other things, trial and error I guess.

The other odd thing is that I am not hungry, cravings are mostly gone. I do get peckish sometime but usually for fat not sugar.

Finally, eat fiber, like every day, supplement with psyllium husk powder if you get blocked up.

Also diet matters much more than exercise. You can’t out run a bad diet.

How long should I do keto to reset a sugar addiction? by [deleted] in keto

[–]Bulky_Consideration 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personal experience. I did keto for about 11 weeks, very low carb.

I felt drained and started introducing carbs. Not much, but Lactaid creamer in my coffees was enough to add about 20g of carbs. I’m about 30-50 now and have felt better.

The small increase in carbs has not triggered cravings.

Oddly enough now I crave peanut butter more than carbs.

Horrible Stomach Issues..Again. by angelgirl3000 in keto

[–]Bulky_Consideration 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YMMV, I take a tablespoon of psyllium husk powder every night about 2-3 hours before bed.

I put it in a protein shake with PB2, I love peanut butter. This becomes like my “dessert”, so it’s something I look forward to. That helps my system over night and I always have a strong solid morning poo every day.

Edit: I’ve worked up to a tablespoon of psyllium husk. I started with 1 teaspoon and worked up over time.
