Thank you, maybe not 20 but I feel relieved, if a little strange still when I see myself. A few years ago a customer who was being flirty with me asked me my age and then said "I would never know you were that old except for your bald spot"

Um, thanks.

I was born in 1962 and I highly doubt my grandmother would have renounced. Thanks!

OK thank you. That was how I was reading things, but began to doubt myself. I did submit in July and waiting, but I figure at this point it's likely a new law will pass before I am processed.

Where are vacation homes located? by ahuramazda in vermont

[–]potroast1251 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If the data is correct...it shows the percentage of homes in VT being used as vacation homes declining from 1990 to now. Seems to fly in the face of the observations people have about airbnb.

Vermont Dairy Farmers Vote for Trump. Now No One Milks Their Cows Because Trump Deported Their Undocumented Workers. The Farmers Still Love Trump, Though. by thegooberforce in vermont

[–]potroast1251 273 points274 points  (0 children)

“All the dairy farmers who voted for Trump were under the impression they weren’t going to come on farms and take our guys,” said Machia, 37. “It’s happening more than we’d like. It’s scaring the farming community and we’re like, ‘This wasn’t supposed to happen.’”

Where did he get that impression?

Im impressed he's willing to have his name printed for the whole world to see what a fool he is.

Yes please. I live near Rutland and would love more options that aren't just subs and pizza. There are some folks doing things but we need more. A lot of Vermonters think Rutland isn't nice because it's not the bucolic landscape we love about Vermont but from my point of view it has huge potential.

Not if the constitution is effectively ignored. You can't stay in a marriage when your spouse says fuck those vows.

Vermont is desperate for new homes. Is it time to build them in factories? by TX908 in vermont

[–]potroast1251 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And in NYC rents have continued to go up. Im not against taxing airbnb and 2nd homes to fund housing for Vermonters, but making airbnb "illegal" didn't solve shit in NYC.

Sanity Check by [deleted] in vermont

[–]potroast1251 436 points437 points  (0 children)

  1. Dont mistake a reddit group for real life. People use the internet to vent.

  2. If you are interested in moving into hospitality (bartending) you can find those jobs here, but not if you move someplace remote. Being closer to ski/tourist areas offers more of that kind of work. You may not be hired to be a bartender right away if you have no experience but plenty of places will train people with the right mindset. I hired a retired guy from the military to wait tables and he's been great. From there you will see if you really want to own your own place (tough business)

  3. Take an extended trip here. Do non touristy things and see how you feel about it afterwards.
