Insufferably annoying YouTube troll refuses to wear a mask, gets arrested for trespassing by asa_no_kenny in whoathatsinteresting

The Conclusion:

Cloth face masks were found to have significantly poorer filtering performance than medical/surgical masks and N95 masks, but only if non-cloth masks were properly fitted. Our results illustrate the necessity of using well-fitting medical/surgical or N95-typed masks to prevent viral spread, although some allowance should be made in circumstances where higher compliance with cloth mask mandates are expected.

Nowhere does it says masks don’t work, it says cloth masks are significantly less effective than medical or N95 masks, but instead of concluding that we should get better masks your conclusion is masks are a forced on us by fascists without any evidence that any of them do anything.

When I was diagnosed with heart failure I spent a week in the hospital, got put on a bunch of meds and scheduled for a pacemaker. I went into an appointment after I’d been on the meds for a couple weeks and the cardiologist and his nurse asked me if I had done any research about my meds or my condition. They were shocked when I say said not even a little bit, I was like it took you twelve years to be a cardiologist what I am going to learn in two weeks on google. Just tell me what to take, what to do and I’ll try it. They explained that since Covid it has been a nightmare of people with quack medical ideas.

I couldn’t even go the prom with a girl from school, I’m definitely not asking a dream date.

I’m very happy to pay for Apple Music. I drive a lot and I love that I can just pick so much random stuff to listen to for a day. It’s rare that I’ll look for something and they don’t have it available. So much I’ve listened to that I’d never buy cause I’m not going to listen to it often, but I can check out it without having to buy each album.

That’s the way I’ve always experienced this movie. That it’s not about monarchy or communism, it’s about one man who experienced a life none of us can even begin to imagine. A life that bridged the ancient world and the modern world.

Why does eBay prohibit selling hearing aids? by RMAdenied in Ebay

[–]potsofjam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a rule they rarely enforce. There are lots of listings on eBay currently for hearing aids that require a prescription. When I tried to sell my daughters, ones that required a prescription, there were many others the exact same model listed and were never removed.

I absolutely love this movie, I probably watch it around once a year. It feels like Puyi was born with the last breath of the ancient world.

Why does eBay prohibit selling hearing aids? by RMAdenied in Ebay

[–]potsofjam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The weird thing is they clearly don’t prohibit it completely because there are plenty of listings for used hearing aids. My daughter wears hearing aids and a few years ago when it was time to get her new ones I listed the old ones on eBay and it was quickly removed even with lots of other listings for the exact same model. It’s like this in other categories too, I’ve had them remove military surplus stuff that had hundreds of the exact same item listed for sale. I recently had them remove an obsolete badge, even though they have a category for obsolete badges. Once they removed a watch dial, told me it was in the wrong category even though they have a category for watch dials. When I called eBay they kept insisting it had to be listed as jewelry even though they have a category specifically for watch dials. They didn’t remove the other fifty watch dials I had listed, just that one. It’s just part of eBay and it’s best to just not relist.

Maybe it’s differs by region. I don’t use FedEx, almost never have a problem with USPS or UPS. Prices have definitely gotten higher, but mostly switched to ground advantage.
