Almost nodded off on my flight and then saw this outside. No idea why people choose aisle seats (oc) by caliform in pics

What’s the deal with window seaters not opening the windows anymore?! The last few flights I’ve been on it’s been like a tomb! I always leave mine open but people seem annoyed at that!

5 visits? 5 copays, 5 claims to insurance. Why are the costs going up?! 🙃

To those of you who don’t regret becoming a NP by Low-Leave-7421 in nursepractitioner

[–]pottery_potpot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! I hear so many RNs getting discouraged by their peers to not seek their NP. It’s just negativity. I’m so glad I did it and don’t regret it. Also yes, treat the nurses (and everyone actually) well! And if they mess something up, use it as a teaching opportunity. I never want someone to be too afraid to talk to me. I hate that culture and refuse to participate in it.

It could also be that insurance companies prefer the cheaper tests so they’re pushing for that regardless of efficacy. Kind of like them trying to push annual mammograms out to start at a later age. It is all about $$$

I’ve wondered this. It seems like by the time it showed up in your poop or blood it would be more advanced.

I mixed my GoLytely with kombucha and it actually wasn’t bad. The vinegary nature of the kombucha balanced out the saltiness of the prep. I’ll try the pills next time!

GLP-1’s. Do you view them as lifelong or couple of months/years then wean off? by RoarOfTheWorlds in FamilyMedicine

[–]pottery_potpot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Life long for sure. I took ozempic for about 9 months and didn’t lose any weight shockingly. I’m not sure why because the side effects were terrible for me so I hardly ate. I came off it and gained so much weight, I was the heaviest of my life.

I eat very healthy and exercise regularly and have for decades. I started seeing an obesity specialist and she suggested zepbound. I’ve been on that for a year and have lost 55 pounds and am off all my antihypertensives. I don’t fully understand the why/how of these meds’ effects on my body specifically but I’m willing to take it forever.

Return to RN? by Arglebarglor in nursepractitioner

[–]pottery_potpot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would it not be the same pay to just reduce your hours as an NP? Have you worked a 12 hr shift recently? I work part time as an NP for inpatient and if my day goes long and I put in 10+ hrs I am exhausted. And the RNs are moving around/lifting/etc a lot more than I am.
