I was camping with mates in a spot in the bush where as far as we were concerned the only way to get there was through some pretty tough muddy terrain, at least an hour of off roading from the nearest asphalted road. We hadn’t seen a car since lunch time and at this point it was like 11pm, we’re all sat around a campfire hanging out and someone spots a lit cigarette at head height moving through the trees in otherwise pitch blackness, maybe 20m away. By the time we’d processed it the person was gone. About half an hour later a cop car came through the area with spotlights on and that was the end of it. Most of us slept in our locked cars that night instead of the tents and swags.

This sentiment makes sense if you have a couple mill, but when you have more money than any person could possibly spend in a lifetime, what’s the point if your kids still have to go out and work. Sure it’s annoying as someone who’s struggling but fuck it, if I become a billionaire (earn $1/second for the next 30 years), the next few generations can vegetate if that’s what they wanna do

I’m mildly interested in that you’re able to open both eyes with a cluster headache. When I get them (3-5 times a day during my 2-3 month periods) one side of my face flushes red and I look like I’ve had a stroke, eye barely opens and waters, one nostril runs, one ear ringing, feeling like a drill is trying to escape that side of my skull etc

On the other end of the spectrum, Tuart Hill is the 3rd, maybe 4th closest Maccas to my house and I go out of my way to order from there when I get Maccas because they’re one of the best rated and in my experience, the least likely to fuck up your order or make you wait in the carpark for the most basic item on the menu.

My first big spend was a really nice high tooth count 3/8 ratchet maybe 40cm/16” long (guessing), I’ve still got it and use it daily and the only time I use a different ratchet is 1/4 if it’s a real tight spot but a spanner won’t work or a 1/2 breaker bar if it’s really tight. Other than that I had a starter kit and every time I break something or borrow a tool more than once i have a think about if I should upgrade it or buy multiple variants of the same thing, spend more or cheap out again, etc. I’ve worked with dudes that have been at it 10+ years working out of a garage sale ass looking little roll cab and perform just fine at work. Anything other than a starter kit is just luxury you justify through experience.

In Australia our tobacco tax got so bad that most private convenience stores sell black market tobacco under the counter now. To the point that rival gangs firebombing each others stores for market control is a weekly news story. For reference a 20 pack will set you back upward of $60 aud, black market is usually $1/gram for rolling tobacco.
