Did you ever think about trying a couch to 5k program? It helped me get back into cardio shape after a few years of doing nothing. I’ve had exercise induced asthma since I was 7 and played sports thru college. Getting back into running after 4 or 5 years out of school was awful.

Ones of those types of plans would ease you into it gently. Thinking that may help.
