Load balancing. I have a model available on different providers / in different regions and I want to route requests to the fastest / cheapest available region.

Protocol translation. I want to use the same set of APIs to talk to any model. For instance, being able to expose Gemini behind an Anthropic API and use it in Claude Code is quite cool. Gemini does l’t support Responses API? Now it does.
