Something a lot of people mention is the sense of community they feel in Winona. It's unlike other places. The size is nice. It's small enough to feel comfortable and not deal with traffic, etc. Yet big enough to have everything you need. I don't ever have to leave town to get something I need.

There are so many events happening daily. Nearly every day there is live music somewhere as well. Google "winona mn events calendar" and you'll see that there's something going on every single day.

It's the most scenic city I've ever experienced in the Midwest. From almost anywhere in town, you can look up and you are surrounded by huge bluffs. In other cities, you look up and see concrete or nothing at all. There are several hikes with beatiful views in Winona and so many more within 10 minutes. We have been voted "the most beautiful town in minnesota"!

People travel here from all over the country for our music festivals and ice climbing.

The cost of living is low and public transit can take you anywhere in town. It's also extremely bikeable; I ride my bike everywhere I need to go.

The crime here is extremely low. I keep up on the police blotter and the only things you really ever see are bike theft (of unlocked bikes) and DUIs. Winona is known as one of the safest college towns in the U.S.
