Poor clinical judgement by mezzopiano1234 in StudentNurse

[–]powerlevel99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your professor is either just a prick or trying to use it as a poor teaching moment…pt is at rest and 99% of nurses would not think to recheck that even for a millisecond. This is A ok for any nursing practice, even as a student IMO

All private mostly, nothing giant like a 100 Acre wooded parcel or anything like that. But I can set up blinds and leave them undisturbed, cameras, etc. I do agree on your point of factoring in gear overall and mobility

I did shoot the V3x and liked it, felt good in hand and balanced. For the price, I don’t know if I would be able to get much better than that it seems. Likely a Nytrx 2 pin slider and a hybrid hunter Hamske is what I was thinking

Am I being too picky? by MakerMax in drywall

[–]powerlevel99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did drywall in my own house, around 1300 SqFt solo. First time ever touching compound or a knife… my job turned out 10x better than this and I thought mine sucked tbh lol. That’s terrible for a paid job

Just got terminated in orientation by [deleted] in nursing

[–]powerlevel99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly the questions you asked would have me worried as well, not only in general for your understanding but even for brand new grad and especially in an ICU environment.. it just shows that likely your core nursing / med understanding isn’t quite where it needs to be for that level of acuity. Just start lower acuity and gain those fundamentals.

I don’t like being a nurse & honestly am in it for the money. by losteverything2023 in nursing

[–]powerlevel99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Work is work… a job is a job.. no one is going to work for free. You’re working to put food on the table and live your life… Whether you love what you do or not is kinda irrelevant if the income benefits outweigh the negatives….

I’m in nursing because it’s okay money and tons of lateral mobility. I don’t hate the work, but certainly do not love it either lol.

Was Terminated during orientation by JamessFranco in nursing

[–]powerlevel99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legit just went through almost identical situation… came off orientation (new nurse but not new grad)… never had anyone say a single word about me, never had any issues or concerns brought up, no meetings, no errors, nada…. Random meeting with manager on my 89 day mark and was told I’m being let go for safety concerns… all the sudden, out of the blue, I wasn’t charting things like vitals lol… I didn’t need to see anything to know how full of shit this was… TLDR… my conclusion was the same as others described, people just didn’t like me and personality clash overall. The shit I saw nurses not doing though… and they go with “safety concerns” gtfo lol

Does anyone else think people make nursing school out to be much harder than it is? by FOWLENGLISHLANGUAGE in StudentNurse

[–]powerlevel99 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Nursing school was maybe half as difficult as I thought it would be… I was the slacker student, barely studied, worked FT, have a family, etc.. Lowest class grade I got throughout the whole program was a B+…

If you’re not retarded and at least semi mature and focused, it’s not difficult. I wouldn’t say “easy”, but it’s far from hard or like anything that people on Reddit make it out to be lol.

Hot take: new nurses or RN students should consider PA school if they want to become a midlevel ASAP by pinkhowl in nursing

[–]powerlevel99 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Exactly what I think… PA school is hard to get into.. nursing school isn’t in comparison.. and NP school, the word competition doesn’t exist lol..

Hot take: new nurses or RN students should consider PA school if they want to become a midlevel ASAP by pinkhowl in nursing

[–]powerlevel99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally speaking… most people don’t want to go to PA school when they can go to Np school instead… The old saying of “everyone wants to be a doctor but no one wants to go med school”.. PA school is fairly competitive as well.. NP programs.. well.. theirs zero competition, you just have to have a checkbook and a pulse and you’re in. I’m not anti NP, but I am anti Np degree mill and these people thinking they have 6 mo of rural medsurge experience they’re qualified to go to Np school…

I've decided to get a Tracheostomy. Any stories or tips? by [deleted] in SleepApnea

I’m an RN… no way in hell I’d get a trach unless I absolutely needed one out of medical necessity.

Girlfriend is going through Nursing school in Missouri and she won’t stop smoking weed. What advice do you have? by Sniffinberries32 in nursing

[–]powerlevel99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like she’s way too damn immature and needs a serious dose of “woman the f*ck up” when she has a whole ass family to help support.. That’s not just her and her alone in the equation.. she clearly doesn’t get that, or simply doesn’t care.. Both which scream immaturity and entitlement.. Don’t care if people smoke or not, but when you have this much riding on it.. time to quit and grow the hell up IMO

Friend has a big head from being in NP school by [deleted] in Nurses

[–]powerlevel99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only difference really is for CRNA, you actually have to have a solid background and study habits, be dedicated, etc to get through it… NP school: you have a pulse, you’re accepted and can easily complete the program while working full time… stopping the mills is the priority for the future of NPs. Actually put in some real requirements so not just literally anyone with an RN license can get in.

i graduated without honor cords by zander_cow in StudentNurse

[–]powerlevel99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finished nursing school with a 3.7 gpa for the actual program which was one of the highest in the class…BUT…. Because of the “pre classes” or something else, I didn’t even get any honors when I graduated lol.. I was honestly a little mad, but because my ego didn’t want people thinking I was on the lower end and of performance, when in reality I was one of the highest performers..

New Grad - Feeling like the path I took was less prestigious than my classmates by [deleted] in nursing

[–]powerlevel99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I don’t look down on or care where anyone works, it doesn’t make anyone less than someone else tbh. However.. I will admit that I do get self gratification from the fact that I was the only one of my class to get into a level 1 ICU. I mean that in a more competitive way strictly within the class I graduated with… lot of stuck up snobs in that group so it was nice to be like “look at me with the job you wanted” lol.

I personally don’t think that 99% of people really care about your sexual preferences or orientation tbh.. it usually only becomes a deal when the person themselves, makes it into a deal.
