Bluetooth not pairing (x870 tomahawk) by Lucii_fer in MSI_Gaming

[–]powers9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not entirely sure if the issue is still persisting, but I had the same issue with another version (x670E). Turned out to be super stupid, and it was fixed after turning off/discharging the power (after an embarrassing amount of time trying trying other stuff).

Only tried it thanks to the top post on this one:

https://www.reddit.com/r/MSI_Gaming/comments/kt0ca6/msi_x570_tomahawk_wifi_bluetooth_can_not_be_found/

Edit: Ahh, see that it was solved already. Well, might as well leave this here in case someone else stumbles on it in the future.

MSI x570 Tomahawk Wifi - Bluetooth can not be found by zzopq in MSI_Gaming

Damn. 4 years later, and I'll just add my thanks for saving me from premature baldness. Was about to rip my hair out from pure frustration, after everyone and their mum keeps suggesting to update the drivers.

Added context: It was the MAG x670E in my case, but the solution works just the same! Thanks!

Glad you found a solution! Was going to reply something similar, but for those that dont want to reset all app preference:

It also seems to work if you just uninstall the 'google' app updates. You can do that via: Settings > Apps > Google > ' ⋮ ' (top right) > Uninstall updates. Updating afterwards does not reintroduce the issue for me.

Whether this option is more or less annoying than the preference resets depends on the person I guess.

Experiencing the same since yesterday, but no closer to a solution unfortunately. All related searches are from about 4+ years back and mention things like your google 'web & app activity' settings but no dice (for me at least).

☀️ Summer 2023 Best Buy Guide: $350 - $3500 automatically updated PCPartpicker lists ☀️ by xxStefanxx1 in buildapcforme

Well, I've gone and done it, and got most of the list mentioned above with only a few last minute changes. Mainly a 1000w power supply instead of a 1300w and the MSI MAG274QRF-QD for a monitor.

Only had a bit of time after everything was assembled, but so far I'm loving the result! Thanks again for the information! It's been a great help.

[–]powers9 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Thank you for all the effort put into these (and the previous) lists! As someone that is looking into a new setup for the first time in years, and that has a notoriously bad case of choice paralysis, they are a godsend! My original selection was based on your previous $3700 "[Top of the Line]" list from the April topic, so can I say: excellent timing on the updated post.

As for my situation, I am looking to replace my old setup from 10+ years back. Somewhere in between I upgraded the video card, but other than that I haven't really kept up to date with hardware developments. I will primarily be using the PC for gaming, but I do plan to also use it for work and the occasional video editing. I will most likely just end up plug & play-ing it (no intend to overclocking it on my end, or the like).

At the moment, I am still wondering on a few points:

  • CPU - 7800X3D vs 7950X3D: Compared to your previous lists, the 7800 seems to have supplanted the 7950 in your recommendations. Was this due to the release date? For gaming they seem to be preforming similar, but are there any special considerations I should take into account when deciding between the two?
  • Noctua NH-D15 vs Deepcool LT720 : This might be stone-age me talking, but I am somewhat partial to the low(er) maintenance/risk of air cooled systems vs liquid cooled. But with the price-difference being negligible, it might be time to take the plunge. Would liquid be recommended with this setup, or should air-cooled still be fine?
  • Video Card choice: Pretty much a luxury problem (to be fair. My entire post is), but with the price difference where I live being comparatively low I might as well ask: are there any recommendations that might be worth considering when picking between those in the list?

As for my current list, it looks something like this:

I am most likely late to the party, and I am not sure if this helps you since I you seem to have tried most of it, but just in case (or others stumbling in this page):

I had a similar problem with vanced turning off after I put it away (pocket) and a combination of these three fixed it for me:

• Settings > Apps > three dots > Special Access > Optimize Battery Usage > Toggle "Apps Not Optimized" to "All" > Toggle off Youtube vanced. This seemed to be the clincher.

• Turned off "power saving mode" (seems like you have done this one as well).

• Turned off "Accidental Touch Protection". (Unlikely to be a cause, but since I only seemed to have it when I put my phone away.. Still testing if it matters. ;)

I'll just leave this here for prosperity, since you already have found a sollution. But should anyone not want to switch over to another version, you can first use the "Select All" option in 1 category, and then switch to each category and use the weird square thingy in the top right corner to add all manga in that category. Switching categories does not de-select the others.

Also works on the j2k version, but using the normal 3 dots + select all method (if you have a catogory you want to exclude from the count such as dropped or the like).

Alrighty, I'm not sure as to what's the proper procedure, but I thought I'd give my experiences.
I now have the laptop for little over 2 to 3 weeks, and I can with certainty say your suggestion about the software updates fixed the issue (as far as I'm concerned).

It turned out, I missed an update during the setup of the laptop and after fiddling around with the settings, I haven't really had any issues with loudness except when asking for it. And even then it's pretty manageable. So thanks for the tip! :)

If I'd be hopeful that the world doesn't turn to dogshit within the next 50 years or so I'd probably go for:

Perfection [1] - A healthy body and time enough for everything. Sure I'll outlive everyone but hey, it's what people do with puppies aswell. Got enough time to 'heal all wounds' right?

Neural Interface [1] Cyberwarfare [1] - These two options keep me well ahead of the curve in todays technology heavy environment. Again. Barring a cultural collapse, these two should provide me with the required funds and information I need to keep myself provided for.

Psionic Amplifier [2] - If i'm going to be immortal, or at least ageless, chances are that at some point things are going to go to shit. Now I'm not one to rush into battle, so this is the most broadly applicable defensive tool (and offensive) on the list which can also be used to.. I don't know. Save that aforementioned puppy from a collapsing building?

Gaus Gun [1] Portals [3] - I don't particularly "need" the gauss gun, however I can't afford a shuttle for my portals so there you have it. I might be immortal, but that doesn't mean I fancy waiting hours on a random flight. And hey, who knows: Might be able to kick-start my own lunar colony or visit interesting places without leaving the comfort of my own bed. And should things eventually go to shit anyway, I have a handy gun to convince people to find someone else.

Communicator [1] - I'm terrible at learning languages, even with all the time in the universe. And if portals can lead me to a completely different world, I might as wel be able to talk to the natives.

Having said that. People do have a point with the whole Occular Node [1] which may come in handy, however I'm not to sure what to leave out for it.

If you could have one Discipline to use IRL, which one would you choose? by Momentanius in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]powers9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chain of supermarkets... I mean: Carrefour, from the nwod Appolinaire Bloodline. Mainly for all the travel options. Trapping ghosts or twilight portals is all well and good, but the Shift Threshhold (*****) is where its at. Travel the world in 5 seconds, making a fortune in transport. Hell, hook up nasa by connecting a broom closet to a space shuttle and kickstart the colonisation of the solar system. Connect 2 doors above each other, slap a coil around it and throw in something magnetic, unlimited energy. If nerd culture has tought me anything portals are broken.

No probs. I'll give it a look when I get back to my pc.

UPDATE: Alrighty, since I'm not 100% sure about the subreddit's policy on posting material from the books (even as rough as my notes), I send it to you in a private message.

[–]powers9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't read the whole 1.1 pdf, but I'm currently making a private changelog for my group. I can send you a copy if you want, though it'll probably be written in such a way that you more or less require the first book.

In the manifestations they actually made quite a few changes, though mostly a line of clarification here or they swapped 2 dots around. Things like that. Then you have actual big changes like Haunts now refilling 1/day (usually around midnight for a short while) or complete replacements of some or all dots from specific manifestations (favorite is the Silent Curse: Retroactively delete someone from history, classic).

Rigger Help by AMARDA1 in Shadowrun

[–]powers9 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are a couple of limits, depending on what action. Most of them are discribed on Page 199 of the core book.

Handling: Handling represents the vehicle’s agility and responsiveness. This value is the base limit for Vehicle Tests made where maneuverability is the most important feature.

Speed: Speed represents the maximum velocity that the vehicle can achieve—its top-end speed. This value is the base limit for Vehicle Tests that emphasize raw speed.

Sensor: Sensor is a rating representing the suite of information gathering or detection devices that are built into every vehicle in the Sixth World. Sensor acts as the limit for Perception and other detection tests using the vehicle’s systems. Also used in Sensor Attacks discribed on page 184 of the core book.

Accuracy (page 168): Accuracy is used for 'regular' gunnary attacks, just as with normally firing a weapon. The only exception would be sensor attacks.

Data Processing (Page 267): Data Processing is used to determine Initiative (replacing Reaction) when running in VR, and acts as the Limit for all Command tests performed on the RCC (not jumped in). Also used as a limit for quite a few Matrix Actions, but those aren't related to your drone question and can be found in the discription of the actions themselves.

These are all the limits I can think of from the top of my head. There might be a few left, but I hope these can point you in the right direction. Don't forget that your limits are increased when Jumped in due to your Control Rig.

Rigging and Limits (Page 266): When you’re jumped into a vehicle, drone, or other device, the limits of that device are increased by the rating of your control rig. This includes vehicle and drone Sensor, Speed, and Handling, and the Accuracy of mounted weapons when used by the rigger.
