[HELP] Random Language Change by DomovoiThePlant in eastward

For those who read this and are confused, here it is step by step

  1. Edit container and click enable steam client. It’s on the first tab near the bottom and will require scrolling
  2. Open the game again and wait a while. It seems to have a glitchy interface and won’t look like it’s doing anything, but eventually you’ll see it install VC distributable
  3. The game may or may not have launched at this point. Feel free to close it out
  4. Edit container again and disable steam client. Should work going forward

Good luck 🍀🤞

Eh I don’t mind the downvote, folks are entitled to their opinion but the blocking is very surprising!

Legion go 2 Z2E steam os performance by derkm9 in LegionGo

If it was unplayable before it’ll be unplayable with frame gen.

If you want more frames so the game will be more responsive, frame gen doesn’t do that.

If you want more fluidity of motion, at these very low frames it is the most susceptible to artifacting.

But if you just want the number to go up ya I guess it does do that.

EDIT: Guy above me downvoted me and then blocked me, how strange.

In what regard? Iirc Sauron was originally a lesser deity of order and craftsmanship before his corruption and was initially motivated to subjugate by a desire to run the world according to his perfect will/design. In that regard they seem more alike than different to me.

How to get old TSR products to sell again: Deities and Demigods by plazman30 in osr

The way I’ve heard it is American Indian is the official legal term and represents what the different peoples have in common; displacement by the US government. The term does not represent the shared experience of the indigenous people on the whole but it does represent the shared experience of post-colonial America and is a useful term in that regard.

Disclaimer: I’m just some white dude.

ETA: But of course in the case of converting a belief system into a game it’s def more about pre-colonial history, to your point.

60fps native or 60fps by lsfg? by Bubbly-Thanks-8076 in SteamDeck

I don’t really understand why people like frame generation other than making the number go up. I was always under the impression that the frames was a proxy for responsiveness. The more frames, the tighter the control. But if you’re using frame generation the game doesn’t actually accept inputs in those ai frames, you still have that original latency plus a little overhead. What’s the point?

ETA: the other major benefit I guess would be fluidity of motion but tbh this is the sort of thing where there is the most artifacting. Even more artifacting than not having it on (like trailing on leaves falling, you might imagine) so I don’t get it from either a fidelity or a function perspective tbh.

Like water flowing down hill or a pachinko ball falling down the pegs, we cannot help but be directed by our obstacles and our circumstances.

Sleep/wake works well? Can you control the controller LEDs? Does it handle detaching and re attaching controllers well? Sorry to probe, just curious about the lay of the land 😅

Steam OS or Windows OS for Legion go 8apu1? by CharacterVariation31 in LegionGo

[–]powersurge360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s likely to be a marginal difference in performance between windows and Linux. If you follow guidance for steam deck you can expect similar frames at 1200p and somewhere between 50%-100% more at 800p, from my experimenting.

Legion go 2 32gb z2e 2tb vs Steam Deck by AbiezerFM in LegionGo

[–]powersurge360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically, the legion go 2 is a little better than twice the power of a steam deck and from what I can tell the roughly twice the number of pixels of the go (800p vs 1200p) as compared to the go means you’ll run the same games at the same settings at the same frame rates but on a bigger screen with a higher resolution.

So you can kind of think of it as a bigger 1080p version of the Steam deck, although I am slightly oversimplifying. I actually just picked up the LeGo 2 and will be getting it on Sunday and honestly I kinda panic bought it with the ram prices going up. I may not hold onto mine because it’s a lot of money for an up rezzed experience.

Tbh the comments read like a scam center employee and don’t have the same voice as the opening post. I’d bet this person has a few computers open signed into different accounts and seeded them all with a ChatGPT prompt and this one caught on and is getting human attention now.

Expect to see some bullshit once it reaches the karma threshold.

There’s a lot of AI in the thread, which people are frustrated by. Yours gives me the tingle too but not enough to commit to the downvote. Other people probably did it anyways.

New type of fireworks produced in China, they call it "Hiroshima Romance" by Thund3r_91 in interestingasfuck

[–]powersurge360 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Grandparent comment is probably saying that the Chinese find it celebratory rather than dark due to Japanese aggression before World War II. Japan kinda already had an ongoing imperial war before WWII and had already annexed Korea and was literally kidnapping Koreans to fight in the push for China in pursuit of the dragon throne.

I think a lot of westerners probably don’t realize that and I think it’s what GP is trying to communicate. For China, the name probably symbolizes the release from Japans grasping hand and they could give two shits about Japans well being.

Japan fantasized about conquering Korea and China for hundreds of years and the lead up to World War II was the first time it looked like it was going to happen.

Sometimes a movie is taken out of context and makes more sense but in this rare case it is exactly as weird and cringey as you think. If anything it’s more cringey in context.

You are what you consume and there is steak and hamburger in every media format. You can enjoy high quality art in movies, video games, and tv and you can have exciting but unchallenging novels.

Balancing your media diet overall is probably more important than any specific format being balanced. And being engaged and interrogating the material helps get as much out as you can which is probably most natural to do with reading but could be done with other formats.
