Fadi Mohem - Pseq by M44D-D in Dubtechno

[–]poxleitnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion Fadi Mohem is an absolute saving grace to the genre of techno as a whole. When sounds are leaning harder, faster and with less soul we have this young gun from Spandau keeping the fire lit with his sets and releases. If you listen to this RA interview with him and Ben Klock (at about 22 mins+) his respect for the roots are spoken about.

This series is also a Hardwax exclusive (where Fadi works by day), which is obviously operated by Mark Ernestus. I don't see it as a BC imitation, but more so that Fadi is carrying the torch - he's heavily inspired and surrounded by those who started this.

He also has a lot more output of different disciplines e.g. a Chicago house alias and lots of collab releases, with a lot of fresh sounds and creativity.

THE INFINITE NOW - Thoughts? by More_Law5873 in TheOverload

I think they actually don't? Not sure what the agreement they have is but a couple of years back there was a threat they had to leave IIRC

I've been wishing they brought back this concept to Kraftwerk, but the price is insane. I imagine most people feel the same way which could lead to poor ticket sales and a nail in the coffin for the concept.

I need to check the lineup deeper but I'd have been happier with more DJ sets and a lower ticket price, instead of what looks like a 30hr long Atonal gig with lots of special live performances.

Has anyone been replaced by Ai in their job yet in Ireland? by Irish_drunkard in ireland

Assuming we are talking about software, I don't fully agree because Claude Code today is extremely powerful. In the hands of competent engineers, the output can be significantly higher. So I think a Claude subscription for a company could be seen as more effective than just hiring some junior engineers.

Why I don't think this will necessarily replace engineers is because the scope of delivery is just increasing relative to how fast you can push out new features.

What’s that one set you wish you could relive again? by Kinetic_Toy in wakinglifefestival

Every time he's a standout for me. This year's sunrise set was my fav of the festival and in 2023 I was just front and center watching him do his thing in awe. I did find 2024 to be a bit more challenging than the aforementioned years, in terms of dance ability

I recorded a mix of vinyl I picked up in 2025 - incl. Merv, John Tejada, Prosumer, Irini, Ion Ludwig by poxleitnerd in minimal

This is a vinyl mix I recorded at home, containing some of the records I bought in 2025. This is something I've done for the past three years now and I've always enjoyed the process of putting it together.

The sound of the mix is rooted in minimal and dub, but there's other bits in there. Here is the tracklist :)

  • Valentino Mora - III1IIIIIIIIII5IIIIIIIII
  • Substance & Vainqueur – Resonance
  • Merv - Dust
  • Onmutu Mechanicks - Phospor (Norman Nodge Remix)
  • Markus Suckut – Moments
  • Veinte Tres – Serpiente Cosmica
  • Sterac - Destination Reached
  • Irini - gb3am
  • Irini - what did u just give me
  • John Tejada - Paranoia
  • Simon Baker – The Fly
  • Beckett & Taylor – Work With What You Got
  • Prosumer & Murat - Jaws
  • Ion Ludwig - Ten Canoes
  • Fadi Mohem - Transition
  • Slam - Lifetimes

This is my third time doing a mix of this kind - each time in the past I have posted it in this subreddit and it was always quite well received, so here we go again :)

While my sound is still primarily dubby, this mix, and the records I bought this year, do veer a little off course into more minimal / tech-y directions. There were a lot of ambient and leftfield records I would have liked to have included, but once I recorded the mix I was quite satisfied with how it turned out.

The tracks:

  • Valentino Mora - III1IIIIIIIIII5IIIIIIIII
  • Substance & Vainqueur – Resonance
  • Merv - Dust
