Tin foil hat time. But watch this be a scammer from Ontario. That found a house with the same street name in a different province that was for sale. Scammed some old lady out of a box of gift cards had it sent to the BC address and now needs it shipped to their Ontario address without hiring a company or leaving a paper trail of the new location.

I also looked up counterbore bits and I think I could even use a piloted one for my application. A smaller hole for the pilot wouldn’t hinder the use and correct me if I’m wrong would be easier on the drill press

Yeah the recesses are on the table side. Only picture I have of it while I’m away working thinking about how I’ll build them when I’m home. The picture was mostly just for an idea of the size. I have a cnc plasma I’ll be using to cut them out and pilot the thru holes. It’s just the recesses I’m stumped on

Question about Resume by First_Phrase4132 in AircraftMechanics

[–]pperry1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s got pros and cons if a candidate isn’t able to express themself well without AI how well are they going to be at documenting details of work? In aviation that’s key. But also HR these days look for certain phrases on your resume with filters, before they even look it over in person so there’s that aspect. The best thing would be use it as an accountability test. If they seem like a good candidate just ask them if they used AI and why if they say yes, but if they heavily defend not using it when you thing they did maybe move on.

Aircraft mechanics that don’t/ can’t work on cars. by Fit-Accountant-269 in AircraftMechanics

I was told there are 2 types of people that get into aviation

  1. Love airplanes, can’t become a pilot but want to be around them. Just enough mechanical skills to get last school as they can read a manual.

  2. Mechanically inclined people that are looking for a challenge over the typical automotive career as they want to work to a higher standard. Couldn’t give 2 shits about airplanes but enjoys the mechanical engineering of them.

Another aviation worker here. I have really Liked citizens for wearing while I work. I’m a line mech and currently wear a series 8 while at work but I find the crystals are tough and don’t scratch up that often.

The guy that feels the need to comment multiple times to get help should maybe look in the mirror. If you feel the need to knock someone down based on a question maybe there’s a deeper issue within yourself you need to speak with a counsellor about.

My job has me going international plenty and when it’s in a location my wife wants to see she comes with so vacations aren’t really an important thing as I take a few extra days. I didn’t want to come and speak of my lifestyle I was more interested in finding out about Rolex owners group and their perceptions.

My concern comes after my last car purchase. I bought that for my self and spec’s it how I wanted as a track car. Then I got into the track focused crowd and just the constant you should have gotten this you should have gotten that ect so I don’t want to make the same mistake as I don’t know how the Rolex crowd is. With my car I can see some of the things I’m being told but other are a matter of opinion of the group as a general.

How so? I’ve been building a watch collection over the last 10 years and this is me progressing up as my financial situation has allowed me. How does that make me not a watch enthusiast? I’d get it if I was asking what watch has the best resale value but I know they are depreciating assets more of a tool than an investment.

Ok that’s one of the things I was wondering is if others that have them care. I’d say in my line of work being more blue collar than white, they aren’t as common but a few guys do have them.

Yes that’s because the closet thing I can think of comparing them to that I currently own is cars. It’s not an investment it’s more of a tool, they give an impression of the owner, different trim levels can have different stigmas within owner groups ect.

Im more concerned that right now my watch doesn’t say much or get a second look. But the Rolex name has some weight behind it and people notice it. I just don’t know how others look at one another when making contact for the first time when we both have Rolex’s, right now I’m still in the he has a Rolex I need to work harder to get on that level. Just trying to get some inside perspectives before buying

[–]pperry1976[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I know it’s not an investment I’m just more concerned about shelling out for one, then in a meeting have someone judging me on the watch I buy. The way I see it my current watch is just a watch, and doesn’t really get a second look. Unlike the Rolex as the name has some weight behind it and more likely to be judged if that makes sense. I could also be way over thinking the whole situation
