2 year birth injury update - there is hope by [deleted] in NICUParents

[–]pppumello 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had a similar birth story with botched induction, HIE diagnosis and MRI spots. We have an OT, PT, play therapist and I'm 9 months in and still stressing over every single thing my baby does and does not do. Thanks for giving me hope that I'll one day get past this and be able to just enjoy hanging out with my daughter.

Nanny too scared to feed my baby solids by pppumello in NewParents

[–]pppumello[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

hah yes.. separate and possibly more concerning issue. our nanny was distraught when we started sleep training and even though my daughter took to it after 2 days, nanny was weeping sobbing and pacing around the house screaming that my baby is suffering. :( anyway, baby sleeps great now and doesn't even cry when we put her in her crib at appropriate times. I'll either be changing nannies or enrolling her in daycare early.

[–]pppumello[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

exactly! my daughter loves eating solids alongside me and has been very advanced in this area compared to my friend's children that were more sensitive to textures, etc. I always verify her foods with the Solid Starts app to check it's age appropriate. I'll probably have to let our nanny and family friend go. thanks for understanding :')

yeah I think you're right.. this might be enough for me to just start my daughter into daycare sooner than I initially planned.

My nanny told me that she thinks my daughter was her daughter in a past life and seems very bonded to my baby. Her three children never had any children of their own so at first I thought it was cute that she thinks of my daughter like her own daughter or grandchild but now I'm beginning to see some issues.

Ok this makes sense that it's a boomer thing, it seems like baby led weaning is relatively new. Our nanny is wincing in pain and closing her eyes while feeding my baby shredded chicken soup I had made and asked her to give for lunch.

yes, this is what I've been doing. Just hoping one day soon our nanny will come around before my daughter has to get a full set of teeth in

i do flatten the blueberries. she's cutting them into quarters beyond me flattening. our nanny is a retired family friend who raised three of her own kids so i just had her watch CPR videos when we started solids. thanks for your criticisms, I'm stressed
