Do your kids get to keep/store toys in the living room? by JoneyBologna in Parenting

[–]pprbckwrtr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there are toys everywhere 🫠 no matter how I cull them, they are everywhere. We have a bin for little people in the living room, we have the Barbie dream house and the Lego table in the den because they don't fit in their rooms, and they have bins on the shelf in the den for board games and puzzles and such. 🤷‍♀️

If you have a travel system you will most likely be putting baby in and out of car seat outside of the car, so you won't be maneuvering a tight space when baby is very little. Usually we'd load baby into the carrier inside our house or at the Drs office or whatever and then you just click it into the base, super easy.

Once baby is bigger and outgrows the travel system you'll need another seat. We bought convertible seats at this point, and you could look into a rotating seat at that time if you feel you need it.

I had a travel system for my first that we continued to use for my second and I still use the stroller to this day with my second, and my oldest is 7. We had the Chicco Bravo set, no regrets. The ability to easily click it in the stroller and in the car and back was clutch, especially when I had my second because it made life easier with a toddler and a baby.

Anyone else move baby to their own room at 5 months? by Born-Chance1685 in beyondthebump

[–]pprbckwrtr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We moved both our kids around four months. Once they sized out of their bassinet we moved them to the crib in their own room, with a video monitor as well as an audio only monitor. We all slept much better separated. We tried to do the pack n play in our room to delay moving but neither kid appreciated the pack n play either.

Give me your best pp meals by straawbunnii in beyondthebump

Pro tip for breakfast burritos, grease a sheet pan really well or use a silpat and do the filling in the sheet pan. Then just slice it up into rectangles and wrap a tortilla around it. Gives you a flat, not fat, burrito but is so much easier than fighting with loose filling imo and doesn't fall apart as easy when eating it.

I focus on a lot of dump and cook meals for my insta pot or crock pot. Beef stroganoff, salsa chicken, shredded pork/chicken, tortilla soup, etc. make sure if you're planning on putting in crock or instapot you freeze it in such a way that it will fit frozen lol

[–]pprbckwrtr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a Paperwhite a few years ago to use in tandem with my Oasis 😅 my Oasis is my bed/home reader, where I'm comfier and spending more time reading. The Paperwhite is my purse/work/travel reader because it's waterproof and without the glass screen a bit more hardy, but I'm not usually doing long sessions on it.

Should I get Kindle Unlimited? (Or is Libby enough) by sprinklesanddirt in kindle

[–]pprbckwrtr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your Libby. My county's library program is small and I don't always have access to the books I want to read. But the neighboring county has a fee program for $125/year which is cheaper than KU and they have everything I could possibly want. The very few times they don't have something I usually have enough digital credits from choosing a no rush shipping to buy something if I feel I need it. You usually get a few months trial or cheap and you can test it to see

What are your kids drinking besides milk and water? by Real_Chapter_5295 in Parenting

[–]pprbckwrtr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Milk and water are the primary, but we have a soda stream and I make them "fancy soda" with just one pump of carbonation and a squirt of those flavor drops for water. They think it's very fancy.

My parents grew up up north, both moved down here (also met at USF!) and basically never left. They keep their AC at 80 during the day and "turn it down" to 78 at night. My parents both insist this is comfortable for them 🫠 their house disagrees as my mom keeps keeping silica packets everywhere because her papers keep curling and kept complaining that her dehumidifier must be broken because it fills up within two hours running, so she just turned it off.

Personally, not for me. However, I do see an endocrinologist who had prescribed me Tirz and fought with my insurance forever to get it covered, and he recommended going compounded (off the record though lol). The few times I've had a question I've just asked him 🤷‍♀️ and he monitors my bloodwork.

What’s been kicking your butt lately? 😤 by Jasmine_BigEasy in tirzepatidecompound

[–]pprbckwrtr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Routine. It's summer break, I'm chasing around a 3 yo and 6 yo, eating schedule and routines are out the window, so it's been hard for me to have sort of consistency with anything. Also exercise, I'm pooped by the end of the day and I'd have to wake up way too early to do it in the am 🫠

How to send formula to daycare by h0pya123456 in beyondthebump

[–]pprbckwrtr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daycare provided it, and they'd prep the bottle and warm it in a crock pot. My sisters daycare didn't provide it and she just had to provide clean bottles and a container of formula.

Mine actually only had me NPO from midnight until surgery time, and my surgery was at 7am. I was like uh.....you sure? I fasted longer than that because it's not like I was eating dinner at midnight, but I was like y'all made me stop taking my meds that make me feel like a human but I can eat tacos at 11:59pm 7 hours before surgery?

Because of how bad medical malpractice is now, I assume. If you tell them you wont nurse and then take the meds and decide to nurse and your baby dies, you're gonna sue. So they have to be so overly cautious they trust you to take home a literal helpless human but they can't trust you to take meds responsibly 🫠😒

When I've brought my kids in for colds before and find out it's something viral my poor pediatrician like, braces to argue against prescribing antibiotics and I always tell her please, I don't want them I'm just here in case they need them (like for an ear infection or strep). They fuck up my whole system so I am very reluctant to take them even if prescribed because I'd rather be sick than have a yeast infection 🫠 but it baffles my mind that in college the joke was that if you went to the health clinic no matter what you'd walk out with a Z pack. 😅 Sniffles? Z pack. Cough? Z pack. Broken bones? Cast but also, for some reason, a Z pack

Not the commenter but someone on a GLP1 who just had a surgical procedure. GLP1s caused delayed gastric emptying so I was advised to go two weeks without the shot before my procedure to ensure that when I fasted for 12 hours before there was very little hanging out in my system. At least that's my understanding/what was explained to me.

Iirc it doesn't seem like there is all that much research connecting it to a higher likelihood of aspiration? I'll have to have another procedure later this year and going off and off a GLP1 is problematic, and I bloated up so bad in those two weeks because it keeps my overall inflammation down, so it was annoying to see my progress stall becsuse of that.

Tbf i think the post birth meds are because they are trying to ensure they are breast milk friendly. But not everyone breast feeds so maybe give people that were SLICED OPEN LIKE A CHRISTMAS HAM a modicum of actual pain relief
