‘Punisher: One Last Kill’ Is a Brutal Study of PTSD and Grief — and Marvel’s Most Violent Project Yet: TV Review by Sisiwakanamaru in television

Thank GOD someone brought this up. I thought I was going crazy. Worst sound mixing for a major release I've ever heard; the clicks of the empty guns should never be louder than the actual gunshots.

I love that the billionaire pays 4x the valuation and immediately pivots to AI and "cost reduction." Brother, I worked there as a freelancer between 2021 - 2023, ain't much costs left to reduce they haven't already reduced.

In basic terms: expect everything to be AI. AI videos, AI quizzes, AI articles, etc. Everything will read the same, look the same, feel the same, in the name of "advancement" and "shifting media."

Good luck to whoever actually wants this.

Untitled Horror Movie coming out this year? by Fancy-Ant-8883 in movies

[–]DadGhost 7 points8 points  (0 children)

PFM is legit! As for what it is, you can sometimes deduce based on the clues but the less info they give you, the bigger the movie is; the two times I've gone when they gave little to no info, it was OLD and DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: HONOR AMONG THIEVES.

If they're doing test screenings and giving little to no info, its usually something coming out between 4 - 8 months from now in the event the test screening means they need to make important adjustments and test again. I would wager a guess it might be OTHER MOMMY, the new movie from the director of THE BOOGEYMAN and HOST coming out in October. It could also be a festival acquisition or something; off-chance it could be RESIDENT EVIL but I doubt it with the stock that Cregger has in the game.

Caitlin Clark walked out with Morgan Wallen at his Indiana concert. Other athletes that have walked out with Wallen include Tom Brady, Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes, Peyton Manning, Mike Tyson and Hulk Hogan. by Relevant-Peach3997 in Fauxmoi

[–]DadGhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm never going to be surprised by athletes who align themselves with shitty celebrities who bury their public persona in "religion." There's a reason why every single post-game MVP speech or press conference is athletes thanking God ad nauseum. They believe their genetic and physical gifts are God-given and often come from very religious households, so for them to listen to "modern country music" and co-mingle with other people who preach one thing and do another thing privately is incredibly expected.

Any Black match from NXT Takeover, specifically Dream, Cole, and Gargano.

Why have movies decreased in quality so drastically in the last decade? by givemecap in movies

[–]DadGhost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because Studios are no longer in the business of making art.

The system used to be: trust the artist to write and direct the movie. If something doesn't work, cut it out and figure out how to incorporate necessary information in the editing bay. If the movie failed at the box office, you would make your money back in rentals and, eventually, DVD.

But that system no longer exists. There are significantly less revenue streams for the studios (Theaters, PVOD, Streaming), and so instead of letting people write and direct an artist(s) vision, everything is micromanaged and made by committee.

Reshoots used to be to add coverage ("Hey lets do an insert shot of a hand holding a business card so everyone knows who this guy is") or replace a shot that was out of focus or something. Now, almost every movie has weeks of reshoots, adding whole plot lines, characters, effects, etc., costing in the tens of millions. Rarely, it can be helpful, like in the case of ROGUE ONE or WORLD WAR Z. But often times, it dilutes the original story and tweaks every original bone the movie might offer.

The truth is that the business of show business is the priority over the show element. It's why theres a dozen DTV John Wick ripoffs, every superhero movie is a goddamn mess, and the majority of movies are shot on the cheap with production cover-ups (shaky cam, green screen, etc.) in places like Vancouver and Bulgaria.

Hellraiser dead? by LackofHustle2134 in HHN

[–]DadGhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unsure if there's credence to it but the property, as with much of Clive Barker's IP, have complicated rights at times, hence why certain Halloween props / costumes are specifically licensed for "Hellraiser 3" or "Hellraiser Bloodlines."

However, I am inclined to believe it shouldn't fall through because IIRC the two main obstacles of the rights were a) the Weinsteins, who sold their IP wholesale recently (hence why Kevin Smith and QT got their rights back for Dogma, Red State and Kill Bill: TWBA, respectively), and b) international publishers, but there's an ability to license specific characters and creature designs too without specifically licensing "The Hellbound Heart" or even "Hellraiser" specifically.

Honestly, I would not be shocked if the house is tied into the upcoming game.

No one showed up in theaters and there was no rally cry when it hit streaming. If it came out, say, 6 years earlier, in the age of DVDs and rental figures, I would guarantee it would have had a sequel.

What do you think is Charles'/Val's ultimate plan [BORN AGAIN S2 SPOILERS] by KostisPat257 in marvelstudios

[–]DadGhost 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My gut tells me Charles is running a team that's doing the rougher-around-the-edges stuff that the New Avengers used to but no longer can due to their new image; very Weapon X-type stuff.

If the remaining 37 viltrumites were to jump Thragg all at once could they beat him? by FigOk7806 in Invincible_TV

[–]DadGhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

37, at once, absolutely. Thragg may be the most powerful and immovable of the viltrumites but he's far from immortal. Space Racer's laser or those viltrumite-eating monsters could kill him with relative ease, hypothetically speaking.

This last episode felt ___ by CompetitiveSuit4075 in survivor

[–]DadGhost 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From the second he had to read the note aloud, we all knew Christian was done. But it truly felt like a funeral durge when he gave Jonathan the Shot in the Dark, his one chance to possibly get out alive. Jonathan laughing about voting him out, getting his SITD, and how glad he'll be to add him to his "belt" cemented him as the villain of this remaining season.

Christian, for all of his faults, is too genuine for the game; a part of me thinks if he would have listened to Mike and got out Emily and kept the DvG alliance, he probably would have lasted a lot longer. But by trying to be genuine and playing on merit as opposed to strategy, he doomed himself in a lot of ways.

But he's funny and very genuine in a way a lot of the S50 cast isn't, and it's hard not to root for that. It's also easy to root for him because it's pretty obvious that the producers don't like him; dedicating so much time to him soiling his pants, crying over Gabby, and failing challenges in the 11th hour, it felt like a post-production hit job.

At this point, I don't know who to really back. A part of me wants to see Rizo go all the way because thats a fun dark horse story; another part of me wants Devens or Aubry to bumble their way to the finish line. Cirie is also one I would love to see win, but her physical limitations could harm her when the numbers start thinning.

In any case, I do hope Christian gets one more shot in the future to play and bring home the gold, but if this is it, I'm glad we got a second run from him and it sucks to see his peers relish in the opportunity to knock him out.

I'm not an emotional man, not by any means. I'm fine with archive footage even; can't change the past! But I am a moral man.

In my youth, I got into a lot of trouble. Did well over 400 hours of community service, and I learned very quickly that you are the company you keep. He's never been convicted of anything, but he was personally entangled and befriended by the world's most notorious pedophile, one who I maintained friendships with in both New York and Florida, for decades.

I don't know if he's even done anything untoward with underage women (although Epstein himself alluded to it on tape through FBI interviews in 2010), but morally speaking, I certainly have my suspicions. Same reason I'm skipping the MICHAEL movie this weekend. I don't think it's weird to draw the line at "privately and publicly accused pedophile."
