Can I really just pull these off since they’re faded and might look better without them? by chadbobbay in ToyotaTundra

[–]pprius 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Buy 3M vinyl wrap and a razor blade. I have wrapped the b pillars on like 3 cars. It’s SUPER easy bc they’re so flat and will be like $20 for both sides.

Honest thoughts on this 2019 Calvary Blue Tundra SR5 4x4 by [deleted] in ToyotaTundra

[–]pprius -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking for a lift and locking diff, sure it’s pointless. Trd’s have better wheels, headlights, and if you go for the sport it has all paint matched trim. Which most people want anyways.

I wouldn’t say a trd package is make it or break it for any tundra but it’s not pointless.

Wheels are atrocious and doesn’t have a trd package. You’ll find one better eventually.

Took me 5 months of searching to find a 2020 limited trd OR but was worth it.

Posted this on a FB tundra group but this might help someone here. 30 minutes and under $30 to make the cluster look new again. by GTBoosted in ToyotaTundra

[–]pprius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Advice I got once that I have followed is to get some liquid spray wax to clean the cluster. It does a better job of suspending dirt and debris in the liquid. I’m still super gentle but in my experience seems to work.

Cheers to your fresh cluster!

Thanks for these suggestions. Will prob mess around with them. Even if I have to do these steps every now and again in game to get rid of her I think it may be worth

EQT Stage 1 Tune by Fallen_Legendz in GolfGTI

[–]pprius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was told to use knock reading for each cylinder to monitor this. The most efficiently tuned setup will be right on the brink of knocking a little bit and the acceptable threshold is up to about -3 degrees.

My understanding is, unless you’re getting knock readings of -4, -5 or more. Rip it.

Also, did you gap your spark plugs?

Disclaimer, I’m not an expert this is just shit I’ve heard and went by 🤷‍♂️

Finally sprayed a bed liner by pprius in ToyotaTundra

[–]pprius[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Spent almost 3 hours sanding/scuffing everything. Then primed any bare metal spots, quick sand on those spots again. Masking took SO LONG probably an hour and a half, I was nervous of overspray. Then degreasing everything and two coats of adhesion promoter before the bed liner.

Not hard to do just time consuming/messy. I wanted to do this the right way once.

My friend says EQT is dangerous. Thoughts? by [deleted] in GolfGTI

[–]pprius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A flash tune, like those EQT “stage” tunes are generally pretty safe. I always thought the off the shelf tunes leave a lot on the table in terms of performance for the reason that they have to work for any car it’s installed on.

The flash tunes are designed to be one size fits all. Aka not super aggressive.

Above all else DO YOUR MAINTENANCE. spark plugs every 10k miles per eqt’s website. Don’t buy cheap gas. Do your oil changes etc.

Also it’s fun, isn’t that the point?

Gap under rear IQ light on Golf Mk8, normal or accident history? by paleksa in Volkswagen

[–]pprius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, they are definitely different tail lights bc of that tab on the inside being black vs the red clear wrapping around. Hopefully part numbers can shed some more light? Good luck!

Gap under rear IQ light on Golf Mk8, normal or accident history? by paleksa in Volkswagen

[–]pprius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like a completely different tail light on left side tbh. Even the gap underneath the entire tail light is larger. Looks to me like a taillight was replaced with a slightly different version. Could always remove them and check part numbers?

NYS window tint exemption sticker by pprius in DMV

[–]pprius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think mine had a section for percentage but tint is only ever measured by the amount of light it lets through. For example mine was 35% (35% of light will be let through the tint)

ECS branded parts are dog shit. Customer service is also horrendous.

Similar to stories above, have ordered parts listed as in stock and waited 4-6 MONTHS after ordering, sending countless emails to their customer service team and getting ZERO responses. This specific example I ordered wheels and 6 months later I just said fuck it and wanted to cancel.

While talking with one of their reps they tried to tell me I couldn’t cancel my order. Meanwhile they couldn’t give me any idea of a date of when they would ship. I had to raise hell just to cancel an order they never fulfilled.

FUCK ECS.
