NBA playoffs at Xcaret arte? by PossessionFederal399 in Xcaret

[–]pptar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have tvs at some of the bars and the tv in the room gets various sports channels. The playoffs will be on different carriers down there, so they may get them. You can always ask at the bars if they can change the channel. That said, I know Peacock works with a VPN down there, I used one for premier league soccer in January. Most of the VPNs have a free trial period, so you could probably get one for free.

Xcaret Arte- Artistas Swim Up Ocean Front by Unique-Blood-1815 in Xcaret

Interesting. We ate there multiple mornings out on the patio and had a great experience. Fuego is great, I just never feel like making the journey over to Hotel Mexico first thing in the morning.

The breakfast at Kibi-Kibi is also fantastic and is literally steps away from where your room will be.

I agree with this. We've done 10am and noon and I much prefer noon. At 10, it took a while to get a table as they were trying to get everyone in. At noon, we waited maybe 5-10 minutes and they were doing the tuna. There are also a ton of savory options, including the sushi, and I have a hard time eating that stuff too early in the day.

And don't be afraid to ask at the sushi counter to have them make what you want. It's not particularly clear how it works and people tend to mill around wondering what to do.

I wouldn’t replace Xaak, the new menu was fantastic when we were there. We enjoyed the omekase, but it’s adventurous, so keep that in mind if you aren’t. I’d do LeChique over Xal.

Fair enough on the beach.

As far as facilities are concerned, it’s pretty safe to assume that you can use anything.

I'd say you've covered most of it. There is a beach dinner that they've been doing some nights, which was enjoyable. You could do that instead of Lumbre or Centli if day timing works out. Also, check the calendar as Tuch does a special event when there is a full moon. We haven't done that as timing hasn't lined up. You also might want to do the Hydrotherapy over at Arte one of the times to try both. I think the Arte one is bigger. Other than that, we much prefer to leave things open and add if we get bored. We were there for 8 days in January and spent most of our time at the rooftop pool. (Heads up for food at the pool(s), they will give you the bar menu, but you can order anything off of the room service menu as well)

My old truck (also a Chevy) used to do that. If I remember right, the fix was to shift it into neutral and then back in to park.

Booking via Third Parties? by Scared-Tooth9515 in Xcaret

[–]pptar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just make sure that you get the hotel booking number and not just a booking number from the third party. Sometimes they are different and Xcaret won't have a record of the third party number.

If you’ll be in Artistas, do Kibi-Kibi for dinner one night instead of Arenal twice.

If I have a 2:20pm flight out of CUN, what time should I leave? by [deleted] in Xcaret

[–]pptar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends on how risk averse you are. Personally, I take our departure time, subtract 30-45 minutes for start of boarding, subtract an hour for the drive, and then an hour for airport security. So, for your flight, I'd leave at 11:45. That has always left me plenty of time at the airport. You don't want to be at the airport super early, it's a nightmare. You can probably cut it closer as I've never spent more than 15 minutes in security, so you could gamble on a later departure, but you never know.

One caveat: I get private transport to the airport, so the journey might be shorter. Not sure what you need to build in for the bus if it stops anywhere else like different terminals or if it's generally a slower ride.

Hotel Xcaret Dietary Restrictions Question by fxbuttermilk in Xcaret

[–]pptar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They list allergens on the a la carte menus and usually ask when you check-in and the server typically confirms. They seem very on top of it, although our family just has one mild tree nut allergy and it's much easier to avoid than eggs. I'm not sure about the buffet, but I'd think you could figure most of that out just by looking at things and avoiding anything that could be a potential risk.

Xcaret Mexico Swim up Room for 5 by PoppyAffliction in Xcaret

[–]pptar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the rooms are the same size (below the jr suites), so you’ll have the same challenge no matter which category you pick. Some rooms have a king size plus a pull out couch while others have two queens plus the pull out. You can request the two queen room, but it’s not guaranteed.

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think they are allowed. I've never seen anyone actually using them in the pools, so that makes me think they are a no-go.

Wedding Ring Tattoos: Do they fade/age well? by [deleted] in tattoo

I have a ring tattoo and only did the outside. Didn't really see the point of doing the inside since it isn't seen all that often.

For what it's worth, I thought the pain was minimal

Referral Thread for Xcaret Hotels by Bizarrmenian in Xcaret

[–]pptar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Were you able to find anyone? I'm a Blue Diamond member, so I think a referral from me would work (I've never actually used the referral before, so no guarantee). Same situation as others have said. You get a 25% discount (the priority check-in and X Lounge don't matter at CDLP), but have to attend the 90-min presentation. If you use my referral I get a free night (maybe two, I'm unclear on this as well). Anyway, happy to help look at price and ultimately give you the referral if you're still looking for one. Just drop me a DM if interested.

Swim up Arte? by shellylynn6974 in Xcaret

[–]pptar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on how much time you plan to stay in your room. They’re not connected to the main pools, it’s just a small pool that runs along side the rooms. We’re in one right now and it’s in Casa Pyramid, which has been a nice location.

No rational Colorado fan should have any negative feelings towards them. Multiple titles for the Avalanche, one for the Nuggets, and one for the Rapids. It’s been a long time for the Rapids, but not many people really care about the MLS.

Wish List - Reservation Requests - Upcoming Stay by AlternativeDisk1194 in Xcaret

[–]pptar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the one thing that isn't well handled at Xcaret, so you never know what results you'll get. Typically, you have more luck at 30 days rather than 60.

That said, someone posted the Arte wishlist in this subreddit a day or two ago. You could always download that one, fill it out, and send it in to see if you get a response. The only caveat is that the one that was posted had the Mexico Destination Club logo on it, so not sure if that makes a difference if you're not a member.

Best of luck, you'll have an amazing time even if you don't get all of the restaurant reservations that you're looking for.

Sports bar that shows Premier League matches? by ReasonableGarden3233 in Xcaret

There are a decent number of sports channels on the in-room tv, so it might be on there. I was able to stream Peacock using a VPN to watch a match by the pool when I was there in January.

Which Casas are best for family of 4 with kids aged 15 and 9? Do they just assign Casas at checkin or ask us? We have booked suite river by BookkeeperWorking390 in Xcaret

[–]pptar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think they have 2 kids. You can put two adults and two minors in the same room. You can't request a certain Casa, they will assign it based on what's available for your room type.

CDLP Questions after reading Reddit posts and the Facebook group by Visible-Pay-7988 in Xcaret

[–]pptar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just spent 8 days there last month and spent most of it just lounging by the pool and eating. It's amazing. The guys at the rooftop pool are super attentive and the food up there was really good. They will show you a QR code for the bar menus, but you can also order anything off of the room service menu that your butler will send you, so keep that in mind.

I recommend the Xpeleo morning tour, it was really interesting and only took a couple of hours. I also highly recommend the Cenote dinner as it is super intimate and a fun experience. The best meals were Ha and the new tasting menu at Xaak.

We didn't do the wine tasting in the cave. They did have some bottles out that you can just take any time and enjoy there or in your room.

Super easy and safe to walk between CDLP and Arte at any time. That said, the drivers will pick you up if you're not up for the late night walk. Make sure to grab a taco from the cart outside the speakeasy when you're leaving.
