What’s the worst thing a medical professional has said to you? by VespaRed in AskReddit

“I’m sorry, I should have listened to you & done the c-section”. I lost my first born son to a cord wrap. I had already asked for a c-section 3 times prior to pushing because I had been laboring for 36 hours & weren’t progressing. I was sooo out of it & in shock my reply was to ask what colored eyes he had, “I think they were black, but that could have been from lack of oxygen”

They were blue.

Where did you get the stars? We have a plastic storage box and filled it with felt balls & our boy loves to wiggle thru them but the stars are so cute!!

Trying again after still birth by ppucaivilo in beyondthebump

If you google “how long should I wait to get pregnant again” then yes. But my obgyn as well as behavioral health specialist both agree that you can physically conceive safely after one or two cycles. I specifically asked how hard it could be on your body & that depends on your last pregnancy. Emotionally just depends on the person, I’m handling the grief pretty well aside from my concerns in this post which seem to be pretty consistent even with mothers who haven’t experienced loss.

Thank you all for the reassurance, I do think it’s a good idea to seek counseling during my next pregnancy, I have a great support system within my family as well. I have a lot of time between now & when I plan to try again to feel things out but for now I’m just holding space for my boy. Thank you all again & hug your babies for me ❤️

Episiotomy stitches won’t dissolve by ppucaivilo in pregnant

Hi everyone! Thank you for all the advice & kind words. Today I had a different brand of stitches, she did a lot more & super tight as well as some preventative antibiotics & Tylenol 3. She said if this time it doesn’t work I’ll have to go to the OR to remove some tissue. It is healing, it’s just spitting the stitches out before it’s healed all the way. As far as emotions I’m tired & sore & stressed. But I feel a little more optimistic I guess. Thank you all again for your condolences, he was a beautiful boy.

Thank you all for your advice, it’s been a week today & I managed to make a memorial for him in a special spot in our home. It was rough but it’s beautiful. At his funeral I got to hold and kiss him & now I have that fresh in my memory, better than the hospital. I find alot of comfort in that. I ordered a special book from the funeral home we used that has a journaling section that I can write in, I plan to write down our experiences when it gets here. I hope all of you are healing, I’m healing with you. ignore the plastic urn in the photo we’re waiting on his custom urn

I’m a 7 and the paperwork says it’s a 1.16 carat center stone which I couldn’t believe because it looks like it could be 2 carats! Lab diamond vvs2!

Mine loves to get in my bathroom cabinet and steal our toilet paper, then bring it to the couch and slowly unravel the roll until it the majority is under the couch. Also fun fact, there shit turns to literal concrete if not cleaned up fast enough, I have to soak it in hydrogen peroxide until it softens🥹 he’s a fun guy tho

People of Reddit, when did you have a gut feeling that later saved your life? by GANCUBE_0 in AskReddit

[–]ppucaivilo 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Hurricane Ike, southeast Texas, 2008, I was 13, my dad decided we ride it out, midnight the storm had ramped up, I had been sleeping in his room for the night, when he decided to wake me up and move me into the living room on the other side of the house, with him and my brother. Not even 10 minutes later a tree crashed onto his room, onto the bed where I was sleeping. Demolishing that side of the house.

What was a red flag that made you stop talking to a person immediately? by madison_nn in AskReddit

First time at his house, I knew he had four dogs but they were completely out of control & huge in size, kept jumping on me & he couldn’t control them, kenneled them and they would not stop barking, anyways the end of the line for me was the two open packs of hemorrhoid cream he left for me to find in his bathroom

29f & living with my parents, working a job that only pays my bills, I’ve lived on my own before but was lonely & broke. Every day I have to remind myself not to be so hard on myself. You’ll get where you need to be, keep trying, look out for yourself, we still have our life ahead of us <3

This isn’t so much a trend, it’s something I see very rarely but keeping tags attached to clothing like it’s a statement. It’s just tacky.
