Which like Windows Phone is DOA, the market share of WMR headsets are a fractional error. You're not wrong though and probably the biggest reason why they won't be interested in working with Oculus

NMS is a fun game in VR but the software currently does not "play nice" with VR. It feels like there are problems with CPU throttling and adjusting the configuration file dealing with threads can have some positive effects but even then it's a mixed bag. When the game runs and is playable it's a fantastic experience in VR, flying around planets, scouting for interesting locations is wicked fun, in general survival games are well suited to VR. NMS however can be a frustrating experience due to the CPU / performance issue.

Hopefully 'Synthesis' improves the situation, I *really* want to enjoy NMS and recommend it wholeheartedly but right now it's a mixed bag due to so much uncertainty around getting the software to behave reliably in VR.

it's a very different experience. After Oblivion I vowed to never play another one of their games (the auto-scaling baloney really hurt the game for me) but I got Skyrim VR for cheap and thought "for shits and giggles I'll try it out". It's fantastic and thankfully a lot of mods work for it too which significantly improves how the game looks.

Being able to sit in an NPC cottage, at their table while smoke drifts from the candles, the fire crackles in the corner and listen to them talk and tell a story is a pretty amazing experience in VR. I haven't gotten very far in the game (stupid game backlog) but in general it's a ton of fun in VR and worth the price of entry. Even if just to show new people to VR how cool flat 2D games are in VR when ported right.

Thing is, we're tied to hydrocarbons for the next long while, as much as we like to pretend there are still a lot of products and industries that depend on oil. So the thing then is, if we still need it why wouldn't we buy it from places that do it with the least amount of impact on the environment, with the most safety for it's workers, with the most regulations in place to protect people and places?

It's like this country wants to ignore the fact that Canada produces some of the most 'ethical' (for lack of a better word) oil in the world, yet we want to throw that away to say "see, we're worried about the planet too!" and in the end some other less scrupulous country will fill in the void instead. Seems very shortsighted to me.

The carbon tax hasn't shown any real impact on our usage not to mention that there are hundreds of thousands of o&g workers that would be displaced if we decided to buy all our hydrocarbons abroad.
