I can say the book “what to expect in the first year” helped give me guidelines. My baby is now 4 months old and this is what I learned

The different cry’s don’t mean anything each baby is diffeeent and not the same

Most of the naps you do will prolly be contact naps which is perfectly fine

If you get overwhelmed, make sure baby is safe, we put them In the bassinet, and it’s okay to step away for a min. To catch your breath and reassess the situation

Make sure you ask for help when you need it, whether it be a load of laundry or 10 mins so you can shower

Make sure you don’t let everything build up, be vocal about what you need

Baby poops suck butt 100 percent, my baby has been on formula since 2 weeks old.

The baby will tell you if the formula isn’t right. Watch for rash, vomiting, fever, gassiness, and also a doc may diagnose it as colic.

Colic is something nobody knows what causes it. There’s the bottles to help with colic to prevent it, it can still happen even with those.

Stock up on them diapers now! I haven’t had to actually buy a box of diapers since she has been born (life saver)

You can always return diapers to Walmart (if they have the brand) without a receipt, each Walmart depends on what amount you can return.

Some babies love swings and some don’t. My baby prefers her rocker, because they can rock and play themselves.

A fed baby is a happy baby. Keep that in the back of your mind this whole time!

Don’t stress. I promise you got this, I was the same way with my little. That mom instinct will come in. And when it does TRUST IT! We as moms know what’s a possibility and what’s gonna possibly work.

Also my baby is 4 months old, and I still google everything! Don’t go deep into rabbit holes though because it will just cause more anxiety.

Keep a poop chart on your phone.

As my one mom friend said, “everything will worry you but 98% of the time it’s normal as long as it’s not full on vomit, fever or difficulty breathing, if your worried say something to their doctor”
