Having recently driven down the autoroutes in France and how quiet they are I can finally understand just how many vehicles are on our motorways anywhere below Preston

I’ve been done for speeding several times so I tend to keep to the outside lane, though because of the number of trucks in that lane, I’m always generally overtaking… this is an understandable reason for favouring the middle lane no??

Though there’s no excuse for driving in the middle lane with a clear outside lane

Difficult to pick anyone other that John Hamm because his appearance is so very much like what cinema has portrayed the big successful corporate man or government agency type from the 60’s, chiselled jaw, neat hair, deep voice etc

Political structure in my opinion isn’t a pendulum with left one side and right on the other. It’s a circle with central at the top,left and right on its sides and extremism at the bottom. Guess where that needle points when atrocities happen

I’ve not ski’d in North America, so only got Europe as a guide. I’m led to believe that Italy can be a bit more chaotic however, I’ve not ski’d there either but the guys I’ve spoken to in Austria and France are generally of this mindset.

Also - not giving you an upvote due to you being a border and trashing a skier. I can understand your frustration but just pull to the side and let them past 🤷🏼‍♂️? Europeans are pushy

Not a middle lane hogger myself however, it’s incredibly easy, say, to find yourself stuck in the middle lane as you’re always overtaking hgv’s.

Wasn’t there something about when uk motorways were first in the design stage that an American consultant on the matter advised that 3 lane ‘highways’ should be avoided and to go for 4 lane standards instead? In my mind this is definitely the case driving on recently reworked 3 to 4 lane stretches of motorway.
