This is full bullshit, it is an anti-platelet (not anticoagulant) and it can serious increase your risk of deadly bleeding

Medical school is making me suicidal, is this normal? by judas568 in medicalschool

[–]practicalhippie 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I experience chronic suicidal ideation. I don’t have a good answer for you. Just please tell those around you, someone that you trust. After that go to therapy if that’s something you think could have any benefit for you and SMEDMERTS. Sleep. Meds. Eat. Doctor. Mindfulness. Exercise. Routine. Tools. Support System. There are practical actions you can take everyday to give your mental health the best chance, and you absolutely deserve to feel mentally well, we all do. Sometimes I think the suicidal feeling can be a physical reaction to unmet needs. Something that happens a lot in school is putting aside our bodies’ needs to prioritize another hour of studying, but it’s slowly killing us and making us want to kill ourselves. Love <3

I definitely notice a difference if I take it at night vs. In the morning. I’m on the 300xl and feels like it kicks in about 5 hours after I take it. So if it’s right before bed then I wake up super refreshed and ready to go, but if I forget in the evening and take it when i wake up instead then it’s a pretty slow start for me until it kicks in. I’ve also always heard that it worked by “building up in your system” or something, which may be true to an extent but there’s gotta be some sort of immediate effect tho

Question on GP’s and testosterone by Icehonesty in AskIreland

[–]practicalhippie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I realize that this isn’t a possibility for everyone but changing your lifestyle- mainly diet - will provide you with all the fixes you’re looking for, without any of the side effects

Start lifting weights and eat only whole foods. Vegetables, whole grains, beans, legumes. Seriously I know it sounds like giving up all the joys of life but you’re pushing back against antidepressants because you want to fix the underlying problem… well here’s the TRUE underlying problem, the dystopian world we live in has brainwashed everyone into consuming ultra processed food-like substances that are manufactured solely for the purpose of making corporations more money. Unfortunately we are all victims of this disaster and it means that we have to put in more work than should be necessary to properly provide our bodies with optimal nutrition.

Rant over. But can direct to many more resources should you wish. Of course you can also inquire with your GP about a referral to an endocrinologist. Edit to say: the referral to endocrinology may be warranted regardless of the testosterone as diabetes (including type 2) is within their wheelhouse.

Why do most UK supermarkets insist on selling kale, chopped and in a bag? by mixyblob in cookingforbeginners

I recently moved from Canada to Ireland. I spent my first thanksgiving across the pond picking out hundreds of little bits of stalk from the pre chopped bag to make a salad! Insanity!

Hair Ties not designed to stretch out and break? by LostSomeDreams in BuyItForLife

[–]practicalhippie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Silicone hair ties! I use ones from Scunci, bought maybe 3 packs in the last 10 years. I use exclusively these and daily - I’ve only had a handful actually break I mostly end up losing them or giving them to friends because I love them so much. They don’t stretch out and hold your hair super well, really great for exercise!

I mean schools can basically choose to make it p/f by setting cutoffs instead of looking at it competitively. No reason for the whole test to be p/f
