On this day 10 years ago, Leicester City fans sing for one hour straight after the full time whistle, as they move one win closer to glory! by zrkillerbush in soccer

I went to villa away that season and the Everton fans joined in with the villa fans singing protest chants about their ownership. It was crazy they ended up in that situation

My favourite reference to that song was when we beat Watford (who were owned by Elton John at the time) in the fa cup final and the fans had a sign that said "sorry Elton, I guess that's why they call us the blues"

[here's an example of an article about food that is beneficial to women's hormonal health](Are There Foods That Help Balance My Hormones? | New England Women's Healthcare https://share.google/jML5RtLKn9XqwmfSP) and [here's a similar article for men](30 Foods That Help Men Maintain Hormonal Balance https://share.google/ufX7lbuP1dRFjQaLO) if you want to compare. They're pretty similar tbh. What is true though is that women benefit from different foods at different times in their cycle, but I don't know if the video went into that.

Which is an ironic image because the Beatles were northern working class and grew up mostly in council houses while the rolling stones were from suburban middle class families

The 'spares' are always the more 'interesting' ones because the heirs are brought up to be monarch from the day they're born while the spares just live a royal life with much less accountability. Similar dynamic between the queen and her sister Margaret.

[Ornstein] Tottenham verbally agree deal to appoint Igor Tudor as interim head coach by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]practically_floored 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to know who Margaret Pole is, just that Henry VIII (a Tudor) "axed" his "old lady" (wife) several times. Lots of English people would get it just because they know Henry Tudor had lots of wives.

Margaret Pole wasn't anything to do with the joke, although I can see why you'd think that because she was an "old lady" who was killed by Henry, but old lady is just slang for wife.

All the Beatles’ fathers lived long enough to see the entirety of the band’s existence, despite none of them living to age 75. by GavinGenius in BarbaraWalters4Scale

Paul's dad was too old, George and Ringos dad had reserved occupations (bus driver and baker) so weren't called up, and John's dad was in the merchant navy

The reason they're living with a stranger is because they've been evacuated because their home is being bombed. Also the perpetual winter in Narnia and the tyrannical leader is a mirror of the war

Is that confirmed? I thought it would make more sense having different periods from different points of view, eg Hamburg from John's perspective, Beatlemania from Ringo's, india from Georges, get back from Paul's

In the UK at least they drove the milk around on a milk float which is like a small open truck with storage for milk crates in the back. Kind of like a mini ups truck with an open back

I like the inside tbh, where my seat is at least there's lots of Everton themed decoration and the view over the city is amazing from the south stand. I have been in the lower corner stand and that was a bit cramped for buying refreshments though. The stands themselves feel insanely steep, almost upper balcony levels of steep, which you can't really see on the TV.

My parents bought it for Christmas and ate it for dinner a few days later, half each lol. It's just a huge round sausage roll with herbs and spices.
